I did it! I ran my first 5k! it was pouring rain and freezing cold but I finished the race! So damn happy to cross that finish line.  Saturday night went out with friends wearing size 8 jeans and tall boots that were not wide calf.  So happy.  

Looking for a new challenge now...I thought maybe a 10 k or half marathon, but I am not sure if I liked running all that much.  I feel like I did this so that I could cross it off my list, but now what?  Any suggestions?

Congrats on running for first 5k.... great accomplishment.  :)  My suggestion is, depending on where you live... if you like rides... go get on a ride at an amusement park.  AND please post how it feels.  I cannot wait to do this.  (yes, I'd be living through you)

Congrats!  I was in the same boat as you. I started running just so I could do a 5k. I didn't love it but I kept doing it until the run which was in September. I am here to say that although I thought I was going to give it up I am still running four days a week. I love how quick it is and the amount of calorie burn. I can't give it up. I have become faster since my run also. I plan on doing a 10 k by February my one year anniversary of WLS.

keep running!  I bet in a month you will like it much better.
