No more popcorn for me

My family and I went to see the Book of Life today.  Great movie.  I had a couple handfuls of popcorn (no butter) from my daughter's bag.  I was so nauseous after.  Blech!  I didn't get sick or anything, but it was just an awful feeling for about an hour.  Popcorn is on my list of ok things by my NUT, although movie theater popcorn has lots of fat.  I don't even love popcorn, definitely not a trigger food for me, and it won't be hard to not eat it after that experience.  I have no interest in dinner or anything at this point, so I might not meet my protein goal for today.   Live and learn!

I don't blame you. Movie theater popcorn is way too greasy and even left me feeling bleh pre-surgery. If you want a crunchy movie treat, I like to bring in roasted chickpeas. Our Costco here carries the Saffron Road brand and they're pretty good.

That's a really good idea!

That is what I do as well.  The Good Bean has great flavors or roasted chickpeas and you can order them in single serving packets.  You can get the bigger bags at Costco.  Really satiates my need for popcorn at the movies.  And 1oz has 5 grams of protein.

I live Skinny Pop @ costco no butter, no trans fat, cholesterol free and 39 calories per cup. I loved popcorn before surgery and every blue moon I will have a cup of skinny pop to satisfy that desire.

just another thought for an alternative if you ever want popcorn again.

Thanks! I just saw skinny pop at the grocery store and wondered if it was any good. When I get over my trauma I might give that a try!

If you like sweetened popcorn, I do some air pop, put it in a big baggie, add some 0 calorie butter flavor spritz, sprinkle in some splenda, then zip and shake!  Yummy - similar in flavor to the kettle corn.
