1st day of Clear Liquids

And I'm reminded I hate jell-o. It's not the taste, it's the texture. It's all...Jell-oie. 

Any tips on how to get through this week?

I have myself surrounded by light juices, sugar free kool-aid, and herbal tea right now. Plus some frozen sugar free icees for later.

I got some restaurant clear soups and strained them. It felt like a treat to have more flavor. Try different types of foods/soups for flavor variety.

Yeah, wonton broth saved me.  I don't like jello or popsicles, so it was a rough road.  Thank goodness my doc only wanted three days of clears pre-op.

I have no advice, just wanted to wish you luck. I am putting myself on a self imposed liquid diet before surgery. My surgeon doesn't do it but I think it is a good idea.

You can't have protein shakes or broth, maybe Crystal Light, there are shakes you add water.  Good luck, this liquid diet was the hardest part of my journey so far.  After about day four I was ok with it.  Did the Dr give you a written plan of what to eat or drink?  Mine did and it was helpful.

I'm on day 4 of liquids, and holding up pretty well.  You might think about making your own chicken/beef/seafood/vegetable stocks.  They have so much more flavor than anything you can buy in the store.  Plus you know what's in it.    I've stocked my freezer with chicken, lobster and Vietnamese Chicken stock, and I will be making beef stock this week.  Added bonus is that it makes the house smell fantastic on a cool autumn day.

 Height: 5'7".  HW: 299, Program starting weight: 290, SW: 238, CW 138 - 12 pounds under goal!

broth and popsicles were my saving grace.
