I got a call from my surgeons office today.....they got my approval to have my band removed and to revise to the RNY!!  My surgery date is 12/15.  I'm so excited....12/1 starts my pre-op low cal liquid diet.  Coincidentally....my primary care dr called today - with results from an unrelated blood test - and it looks like my sugars are very high...I think I may be diagnosed with diabetes (I have to go for a retest).  Looks like the surgery couldn't come at a better time.  I was so nervous...now I'm just excited.

Congratulations! I also for high blood sugar on my labs and don't have the retest results back yet. I felt the same as you. What a great time to do this before it gets bad. Congrats again!

I am excited as well, I just got final approval and FMLA set up with Dec 4th for my surgical date.  Thinking good positive thoughts and sending good energy your way for a successful surgery.

That is awesome!! It was that high blood sugar test (they said I was severely pre-diabetic) that was the final straw for me to move forward with things to get the surgery. I expect that since you, and I, are in the early stages of being diabetic we probably have a very high likelihood of the surgery fixing it before it gets out of hand. Yay us!
