RNY after lap band removal

Hi all!

This is my very first post here...I am scheduled on Thursday to undergo RNY after lap-band removal in 10/2014 due to lap band slippage/tubing disconnection (??? per my surgeon). I'm extremely excited after gaining back almost 60 lbs over the last 1 to 1 1/2 years from my lap band malfunction! My lap band was surgically placed in 2007 and I maintained a steady weight loss for almost 6 years.

Anyone here had RNY after lap band? If so, opinions/comments are greatly appreciated!

For anyone who has had RNY, is it relatively simple to keep nutrient levels normal with daily vitamins? I'm kind of nervous about the malabsorption part!

welcome!

I am band to bypass -- and so far successful.

The RNY experience is very different. I love it and wish I had never done the band in the first place.

I take my vitamins VERY diligently. All of my levels are normal - I am 21 months post op.

Seriously - take your vitamins, it is not optional!!

Best of luck!!!
