On my way
My surgery is scheduled for December3, and I finally completed the final hurdle today. Last night I met with my Pulmonologist to take the final steps before he signs off on the surgery. He put me on night time oxygen for the last few weeks in an attempt to improve my oxygen stats. During the test for Sleep Apnea, they discovered that my oxygen levels drop below 80% during my REM periods, so I used it for 3 weeks and my breathing has improved 3% on a spirometry test. He also wanted me to use an additional inhaler that could possibly cause arrhythmia. Today I also met with my Cardiologist, who feels that the improvement in my heart function over the last 18 months must be a gift from above, and it will allow me to have the surgery with a decreased cardio risk. She also approved my using the inhaler both before and after the surgery to improve my breathing. My Cardiologist is very excited that I am having the surgery: my Pulmonologist not so much. Nothing is without risk and I am confident that each specialist has done everything they can to minimize any complications involving my heart or lungs.
i am finally on my way to something that I thought I could only dream about. As I said to my Cardio, it's not only about the weight for me, it's about my ability to move, to breathe and to resume the life I had fifteen years ago. I have been on the modified fast that my Dr requires before surgery, and just came from Costco with the Majic Bullet and 2 cases of Premium Protein, which I happen to like. I am waiting for Amazon to deliver some vitamins and Toriani Syrup and I just completed my Unjury order.
