Ok so those of you who just had surgery..... and are up to 3 weeks or even out to 4 months.  How many calories are you getting per day?  If I can only get my protein shakes down which totals 300 calories.... Is that enough for me for weeks out?  Does anyone else mainly only do protein shakes?  If I only do the protein shakes and all my water at this time is that hindering my body or weight loss if that is all I can handle for now?

I am almost 3 weeks out and I'm struggling to get my protein and water in everyday! I am curious as to what some of the ones further out have to say as well! I just feel so stuffed and like I'm consuming too much but I know in actuality I'm not when you add up the numbers! Hopefully it will get better as we get further out!

This is one of the things that we've all been told different advise from our surgeon's offices.

For me - I was told not to worry about calories. Just focus on getting your protein and get your fluids up. They want me to strive for 75 grams of protein and 64 oz of fluid.

I still monitor my calories, and I'm 9 weeks out. I would say the range is between 400 - 800 per day.

I'm not sure if it is hindering your weight loss, call your NUT to find out.

I'm three weeks out and getting 600-800 calories a day.  I was also told only to count protein but I simply need to know the calories for my own sanity.  I get between 70-80 protein and 74 oz of water a day.  I haven't weighed but have to go to my family doc tomorrow which I am certain she will weigh me.

I only weigh at appointments.

I will be two weeks post-op tomorrow.  I sympathize with those of you who can't keep anything down but my experience has been quite different.  I am getting between 800-1000 calories with two or three protein drinks and soft/puréed food.  Most days I get close to 100 grams for protein.  I hope things start looking up for those of you having difficulties.

I'm 6 weeks almost 7 and can eat a lot (unfortunately)  I try to keep it under 800 calories a day.

The first couple of months I could barely get 300-400 calories per day.  At almost 4 months out, I'm usually between 700-900 calories per day.  P.S.  I exercise vigorously almost every day now.

I was under 500 calories until 4 to 5 months out.  I got most of my protein from shakes for the first three months.  It is unusual for someone to be meeting their protein goal at 3 weeks out.  I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but it isn't the norm.  It's more important to be getting your fluids.  Frankly, I was on only protein shakes per my program's directions until nearly 3 weeks out.  I started puree after that and remained on this for another two weeks.  I had to introduce solids slowly.  I am able to eat anything (but chose not to consume needless sugars/carbs) at 11 months out.  Just for perspective, I still eat less than 800 calories most days.

I had my RNY on 9/8/14 and for the first 2 weeks I could not tolorate anything all I had was clear broth and water. After 2 weeks I would have one protien shake a day and gradually increased to 2 over the next two weeks. At this time I was not counting calories but I know it was very low. At 3 months out I am consuming about 600-700 calories a day. I found that having a protien shake for breakfast and 1 snack eating what i can get down usually 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food for lunch and dinner along with 2nd snack a day works best for me. Dont worry too much everyday I cant get that much down just stick to your plan I have been consistently losing about .5 lb per day doing these small mostly liquid meals.

When  I was 4 months out  I was still doing just UNJURY protein shakes  4 times a day and no food  NOT because I couldn't eat real food  just didn't want to because I was unable to get to the protein goal       Now I am 10 months out and I still do 2. to 3 protein shacks a day and only get 300 to 500 calories in a day
