In a few days, I'll actually be 6 weeks post-op. I'm still having pain when I drink even a sip of water.  Does anyone know if this is normal, and if so, when it will go away?

I still have problems with water. Even when I think it has stopped, it will sneak up any get me when I least expect it's~ which is pretty much always!  Liquids are still pretty tough for me 2.5 mos out.

I had to try different temperatures of water to find one that didn't make my pouch ache.  I finally found that room-temp worked best for me.  Next, hot seemed to work alright, which made herbal teas, etc., easier to do.

If you can't drink plain water, any liquids are OK.  Just get your fluids in.

I liked the Snapple diet peach flavor for a treat, even when it wasn't as cold as I'd normally drink it.  The temp problem slowly went away.

Is water the only thing that causes pain?
