Interesting articles: bariatric doctors discuss Biggest Loser show

I thought these were interesting articles, one with statistics, and one with opinion quotes from bariatric surgeons about The Biggest Loser. These articles helped me feel good about my choice to have WLS.  Just 2 weeks now!

Very interesting articles. I must confess I do use the biggest loser Cardio Max Dvd a couple of times a week and it is a great cardio workout that can been done in about 40 minutes. However, I haven****ched the show since it first came out and it always thought it was unreal. Who could really maintain that weight loss? No, normal person has time for that level of commitment to working out. 4 hours a day come on...

My surgeon said they pick people for that show who they know will lose the most weight. ie people who weren't overweight as kids. I know people with duodenal switches who don't lose as much as them per week.

Also the weigh ins aren't weekly, more like once every 11 days
