Give it to me straight... will I ever be able to eat pasta again?

You can but you should eat protein.Pasta will make you want to eat more.

What she said.  It has to do with your insulin response. One gets high blood sugar, then crashes, and then a desire to eat more carbs...repeat.

Next thing ya know, you are fat again. I dont think you had a surgery and had your stomach made smaller and your intestines re-routed to eat something that could make you fail.  Why not lose the weight, THEN see if you can have pasta (in small quantities occasionally...like ONCE a month)

Well, that was my plan, but I don't even eat pasta once a month so I'm good. I wasn't saying I was gonna go all pasta binging. I was just wondering.

I just wanted to say that I hate that when someone posts something on this forum that people jump down your throat. Half the time they make you feel stupid for asking what you did and the other half they are assuming something you asked. This is supposed to be a support group after all. With that said, I understood you were just asking if having pasta would be a possibility in the future.

Ditto!  I get "why would you want to?"  That's not what I asked!  I asked if it was possible. LOL

Pasta sits like lead in your pouch.  It is VERY painful for me.  Once you've experienced THAT you won't WANT to eat it.  There is not much value, nutritionally, in pasta.  The pouch room would be better served with protein.  I eat my meat sauce over spaghetti squash.  I have learned to love it.

Your tastes change so much after surgery that you will be surprised at the things you used to hate that you now love (and visa versa).

Start thinking in terms of what you CAN have and stop thinking of the things you CAN'T have. Getting your head in the game will help you be successful.

Oh my head's in the game, I got this. I was just wondering if I could have it or not. I'm not one who has to eat a pound of pasta, a few bites is good to satisfy me.

oh..on another note. My plan had us eating pasta a few weeks out as a soft food selection. I chose to eat half a hard boiled egg instead.
