starting on week 6 post op tomorrow....... Can I still be in 3 week stall period.....
My support group leader back at the beginning made the comment that in those first weeks, we are "eating for healing" more than eating for the weight loss. Our bodies have a lot to do and it is hard to remember that we have had major surgery! Yes, once you are going forward w exercise it will help greatly, but for ow stick with the emphasis on protein and liquids - and you willbe just fine!
One week after surgery I went into a 3 1/2 week stall. I couldn't believe it. A month later I stalled for 2 weeks. It just happens, I wasn't doing anything wrong, I could barely eat at that point. My only suggestion is change up the foods you are eating, maybe add a little fat and do not eat exactly the same thing/same calories everyday.

ok so tomorrow starts week 6 for me and I haven't lost any weight in a couple of weeks. I have lost a total of 21 lbs. Don't get me wrong I am very very thankful for the loss so far. I am just worried I will stay stagnant. To my understanding based on all my reading people tend to lose the most in the first 3-6 months so I guess I am kind of worried about the stall.
Just some background..... I am eating better getting more calories then before. Round about 600 a day. get at least 60 grams of protein in and almost every day get in 64 oz of water. Some days I get a little bit below that but for the most part I hit the mark every day.
I haven't started working out as much as I should yet because I am still going through the exhausted stage but plan on starting the gym at least 3 times this week even though it is Christmas week.
Anyone ever go through this before? I was hoping to lose at least 50 lbs in the first 3-4 mo. I started out at 307 and would like to be at 250 in four months if possible.
My friend who is almost a year out from a band to bypass revision lost 27lbs the first month, she then went into a month stall. She upped her protein to 80+ grams the start of her third month and lost a whopping 39lbs in her third month. What she did was put unflavored protein in everything even her water to get in as much as she could. She lost all her weight in less than a year (126lbs).
I would try upping the protein even if you have to add unflavored protein to things.

I think you and I had our procedures one day apart. Mine was 11/18.
I've lost 21 lbs since surgery, but it has been hovering there for awhile. I know I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do, so I'm just focusing on the non-scale victories. I posted a thread over in the General Discussion area if you want to go see it. I FEEL so much better, so at this point, that is my focus. I'm still weighing, but I know that if I follow my plan, the weight will come off.
Try to relax about the process and let it happen.
And congrats on the scale moving as well!
