Just over 1 month post op. Experiencing serious hunger and a little stall..
Hi . I am just over 1 month post op. the last 3-4 days I am finding myself really really hungry within and couple of hours after eating. I am not drinking anything for 30-45 minutes after meals as directed. When I do eat my hunger is satiated with 2-3 ounces of food and if not quite satiated with that amount I stop eating anyway. To top it off I hit a complete stall at the same time as these gripping bouts of hunger began (I don't think it's head hunger because of it's severity but I could be mistaken). I am worried about the continuation of this type of intense hunger pangs causing me to have a set-back. Have any of you experienced this and if so any suggestions to get through them would be much appreciated.
What she said! I get bad "hunger" from acid or TOO MUCH COFFEE.
If you are a coffee drinker..you might consider changing it. Starbucks leaves me feeling "hungry" LavAZZA (medium roast, gold can at world market) is easier on my tummy and I dont get that hunger.
Also-call your dietician or surgeons office right away. You need a strategy. They may suggest a snack (probably not) or increasing protein or cutting carbs to get out of that hunger cycle. Start tracking your food just in case ok?

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
I never had that sense of hunger go away but thankfully the sense of restriction was there as soon as the nerves healed so no matter how intense the hunger my allotted amount does quench it.
I think that as long as most of us aren't trying to eat around our new tool that we will be successful. The right choices are so much easier now and so as long as you are doing your part I wouldn't worry about the outcome.
Have faith in yourself you got this
