How many calories
Hello peeps! I am 6 weeks 3 days post op. Had surgery 12/2 and have lost 32 pds since (total of 72 pounds since I started the whole process a year ago). HW 315, SW 275, CW 243 - height 5'6"
I am working out at the gym 3 days a week, 20 min cardio and 45 min weight training (I feel fabulous after now!)
My question - at 2.5 weeks out I stalled for a solid 3 weeks, not a pound lost. Finally it broke and I dropped a little more weight over two days and now I haven't lost anything since. Is it normal that I would move into another stall so fast? I am worried I am doing something wrong!!
Don't say call your surgeon's office, I have called a few days ago and no one is calling me back..
I normally get between 650-800 calories a day. I get 75-95 grams of protein and 60-65 oz of water.
Could it be that I need more calories? What broke your stalls? I am so discouraged, I have given up all the foods I crave and have started working out and am trying so hard and it feels like I am fighting for every pound.
This is funny... I responded to you on FB too. I say change up what you are eating. Don't be afraid of some fat (not fried foods). My 2 stalls broke after eating something different that has some fat in it... You are still early. At some point you can pretty much eat most things a satisfy a craving once and a while. It may only be a bite or two, but it works. It gets easier after 3 months, you don't have to think so hard all the time.

That may be a little too much fat. Fat is 9 calories a gram so 50 g fat = 450 calories. That would mean you are getting more than half your calories from fat. Most advice I see says to limit fat to no more than 30% of your total calories. It is something I have a lot of trouble doing. I guess different ways work for different people. Good luck!
Hey, a little bit off topic so sorrryyy... but what is the facebook page? how do you join? and also, if you post on there, can anyone on your facebook see it? My surgery is a bit of a secret so I would not want everyone I know to see me posting. please let me know. THANKS!
Muscle weighs more than fat so do measurements if you are getting discouraged. Are your clothes getting big? Also, when I started limiting my carbs to 50 gms/day or less I broke my stall. I was told at 9 months I should be at 1200 cal/day - I am 5.5 months post op and at about 600 - 750 cal/day. Good luck! Your protein and water/fluids sound good.
It sounds like you are doing everything right. I would not add calories if I were you. You are only six weeks out. I was not able to eat much at that point. 500-600 calories tops.
Try to cut back on the carbs.

It's a bit different for me, being a 6'3" guy, but when I was at my 3 month visit, I told my nutritionist that I was eating 900-1000 calories a day. She said that I should be closer to 1200 at this stage. I'm losing pretty well, so she said not to worry about it now, but if I stall, try adding a little more.
Have you taken your measurements lately? Especially with your weight training (good for you!), you're probably transforming your body, even if it's not showing big on the scale.
