Want to introduce myself
My name is Sandy and I am almost 6 months out. I have enjoyed reading this site since i found it a month or so ago. I had a little trouble after my 7/28/2014 RNY surgery. Had surgery on the 28th ran a fever and high blood pressure for 3 days, Dr said they had to go back in to look around on the 30th. They only saw some blood clots and cleaned up the insides and placed a drain this time. I was released the next day. Did real well for one week then things started to back up. I called ER over weekend and they said do a enema (TMI) Did not help. Had appointment already for Tuesday, so when I called on Monday they said do the best you can getting in fluids. Saw the surgeon and he sent me for the swallow test, the radiologist said everything looks good but he wanted a few still xrays. He never returned to the room. So all the way home 45 min I scolded myself that it was all me not doing what I was suppose to. Well when I got home they had left a message to be admitted next A.M. to be given fluid and surgery for Thursday. I had scar tissue just before the Y in the surgery site. They went back in and now I have a double Y. Hope that makes sense. Now I am doing great. I am 56 and 5'3" and weighed 216 first appointment and now I am at 141. I had the surgery for many reasons. Hyatel hernia was the main reason, then sleep apnea, high blood pressure. Pre diabetic, high cholesterol, fatty liver, you name it I was getting it. I am so nervous to hit the post button. LOL

Hi Sandy. I too am very new to this site. I have started doing some posts. I am hoping to have my surgery on 3/10 if all goes well and when we submit to my insurance after my visit on 2/9 (6of6). I can't wait. Thanks for sharing your story. You had some complications but you have done fantastic. Glad you are here, glad I found this site also. I think everyone has something to contribute.
