how do you drink isopure or new whey?
Ok, my first week post-op is clear liquids and they say to drink one protein drink a day. First of all everything taste too sweet. How do you manage to drink isopure or new whey which are on my list of approved protein drinks for clear liquids I am trying to think them down with water to tolerate. These things are nasty. I am finding everything taste to sweet.
The premixed Isopure were disgusting. They tasted like sweat. I liked the Nectar brand, Roadside Lemonade and Fruit Punch very much.

I use the premixed isopure (grape frost normally) however I mix it with crystal light as I do not like the isopure on it's own. I fill a large cup with ice, fill half way with isopure, mix a water bottle and crystal light or generic version (grape or cherry normally) and fill the glass full with crystal light. This is the only way I can drink the Isopure and I did not find any powdered protein drinks that I could tolerate.
Don't buy New Whey...they don't contain enough whey protein for us to get the 42 g of protein they promote. Most of it, unless they've changed their formulation, is protein from collagen. We can't absorb that. If you want to buy a protein "shots" type, Yes Whey is a much better product.
I did drink the 20 oz Isopure drinks. They were pretty icky. I watered them down then added flavor drops like Mio.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Many people end up mixing other things like Crystal Light into the Isopure in orde to make it tolerable. There isn't anything that made them tolerable for me. I much preferred the Cytomax protein drinks. They have the same calorie and protein statistics as the Ispoure, but don't have the nasty aftertaste or the tongue coating feeling.
If you are talking about the New Whey protein "bullets"/"shots", is your surgeon aware that they are primarily collagen protein (which is, to be blunt, a crappy, incomplete protein with a PDCAAS (bioavailability) score that is pathetic... and you will actually get less than 10% of the advertised protein)? Many surgeons and nutritionists are not aware of this. They assume that because of the name is it 100% whey protein. The only one of those that I am aware of that IS 100% whey protein is called Yes Whey. Most people just hold their noses and take two big swallows OR pour it over ice to dilute it and then drink it that way.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Thank you everyone. these things are so nasty I can't imagine anything making them tolerable to drink. I go back on Wed to the doctor and hopefully I will be advanced past this stage and can start getting protein from something besides this crap
