I've read about it,  I've heard about.  I haven't been doing it but was wondering if you did?

It's a trap. People do net carbs, because it gives them an excuse to eat more carbs.

Untrue.

I do net carbs because my body and blood sugar does not react the same to all carbs.  My wife is a Type 1 diabetic and has moved to net carbs and her A1C has actually improved over the past 6 months.

This just came up last night at the support group run by my surgeon group's nutritionists.  They recommend 50-100g carbs per day (obviously a wide range and it depends on a lot of things on which number they recommend for an individual).  This freaks me out after being low-carb for so long.  Anyway...she did say that when you are calculating your grams for the day to meet their requirements, you subtract the fiber.

50 to 100 grams of carb can seem like a lot but I find that I often have this from fruits and vegetables. Today my raspberries for breakfast were 15 gr carb. I am currently eating sm banana's for the potassium before exercising and that is 19 gms. By the end of today I will eat at least 100 grms of carb without eating bread, pasta, rice etc

Before WLS, my doctor recommended a three-session, one-hour diabetes education class where I learned about net carbs.  I got a bill for the class never dreaming it would be $800--I should have subtracted $780 from that for what I thought the class was net worth!   Today, I count protein grams, number of supplements, and ounces of water.

Oh yeah, just realized another important thing I count:  my Blessings

Nope, never. I equate that to "eating back calories burned by light exercise". Both practices are anti-productive.
