Also 31/2 years post op. Down 152 pounds and this same weight now for almost 31/2 pounds. I do dump if I eat items with added sugar but this is actually a blessing as it keeps me away from the sweets that helped keep me obese my whole life. I no longer have high blood sugars, high triglycerides, high cholesterol or high blood pressure. I went from 272 to 120 pounds and from a tight size 26 to a size 0. I love my new healthy life and feel better at 56 than I did at 26 as I was obese basically my whole life. Wish I had had my surgery sooner!

I'm a little over one year. I developed ulcers, had an ulcer perforation and went septic after an endoscopy. Haitial hernia, gall bladder removal. Had to get a revision done from pain eating and drinking. Also had a stricture. I am on TPN and getting a feeding tube Tuesday. It sounds Grimm but if I could do it again I would. I'm almost at my goal weight! 239 and now I'm 142 :)

Wow Deana, you have been through a lot. Are you still able to work?

My centre told us that if we had any abdominal pain to go back to the emergency room at the hospital where we had our surgery. I had worsening pain in my right lower abdomen, and after calling the clinic headed off to the hospital. I had a horrible feeling that it was my appendix -- I may have thought I was dying ;)  After several hours of testing they diagnosed me with prominent nodes in my abdomen. Later, I reviewed the radiologists findings from my CT with my family doc and realized that I actually had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. Painful but not related to my weight loss surgery. My moral of this story is to always check out potential complications, but realize that it could be completely unrelated.

Coming up on 10 months post op. Down a whole bunch of lbs and feeling great... wearing a size 10 dress to a party this weekend!

No complications besides soreness/irritation when I am off of the PPI, so I take one a day.
