Question about throwing up (ewwww)

So I am 5ish weeks out.  I have slowly been adding soft foods.  So far haven't had the foamys.  Things are going quite well.  Twice now (not close together) however I have thrown up about an hour after eating.  The food went down, felt ok.  Then I got a feeling of.. hmm maybe the pouch isn't happy..

Why would it wait an hour?  Is this common?

I would talk with your doctor.

I did really great the first 4 weeks after surgery.  When I got to week 5, I started having problems and began throwing up.  I had an endoscopy and found out I had a marginal ulcer which required medication.  After about 2 weeks of the medication, I began feeling much better.

It doesn't mean you have an ulcer but what I have learn since having surgery, it is always best to run it by your doctor's office.

So sorry to hear you are not feeling well.

I can't say from experience what is causing you to throw up.

However, I have 4 friends that are in various different stages post RNY ranging from 6 weeks to one year.

The consensus is pretty much the same.

If you pouch doesn't like it? They throw up.

Today my friend who is one year post RNY

ate fudge ( just a little piece) and she threw up.

She mentioned to me that she threw up a lot in the first year.

I guess everyone is different. We all tolerate food differently...

Sounds like what ever you ate didn't sit well with your pouch.

Definitely call your doctor or your weight management centre just to make sure you are okay!

Good luck

Take care

Oh I feel fine.  Felt fine before I threw up until a few min before and fine right after. I threw up like this a week and a bit ago. Fine in between.  Just wondering if it was common.
