NSV... Denial?

So today I went to my annual Realtor's awards banquet. There were 3 chairs all next to each other, and I picked the middle one, which meant empty seats on both sides.

As the Broker stood up and started talking, another person showed up late, so my broker was pointing them over to the seats on either side of me... and made some funny remark about me being sanctioned off on my own...

Folks, I sat there because I was afraid there wasn't room on either side of me for other's to be comfortable in such a tight setting (seating so close that the chairs touched each other)... I didn't want to squash this person making them sit next to me!

Then I realized, after they sat down, that there was PLENTY of room, and that actually the chair I was sitting in was big, and my shoulders (let alone my ass and thighs) didn't spill over into anyone else's space!

I put myself in that extra space still thinking I needed it. It was clear I did not...

There are days that I look in the mirror and think I am looking good (not thin, definitely not thin, but good and somewhat healthy)... then I do things like this because I'm still so convinced my big butt is going to get in the way!

Congrats! It's fun isn't it. I actually have to retrain my wife. She still asks for a table in a restaurant. I keep tell her it doesn't matter anymore. Last week she pulled up to the front of the restaurant to drop me off. I told her I'd walk from the parking space. Change is hard for many. Enjoy.

That is awesome! I have mentioned it before but I still get anxiety when a hostess starts to head towards a booth at a restaurant.

It's like going from driving a deuce and a quarter to driving a Ford Fiesta.
