Massive loss during month 8?

So my loss for the past few months average around 10 pounds per month. This month however I lost a massive 17 pounds (so far). I'm so happy about that bc I'm officially at a "healthy" BMI.

but is that much of a loss normal this far out? I'm so not complaining. Just optimistically cautious.

My diet hasn't changed but I did have to bring down my excercise bc of an injury. I also moved and started school full time again-so maybe that freaked out my body?

And tmi: but I've also begun to resolve some constipation issues by switching my iron brands so I've also been going ALOT more. Like, I've clogged my toilet twice in three weeks. Could this factor in?

Congrats on your loss. Bowel issues certainly can make a difference.

I agree that bowel issues can make a difference. Also, I know strength-training exercises can cause a bit of a gain (because muscle is heavy), so it makes sense that backing off them might cause a slight decrease (although muscle is good....I don't worry about muscle or water weight, personally...)

If your exercise was vigorous, you'll retain a lot of water. Stopping the exercise likely allowed you to shed the excess fluid.

It isn't really a radical difference. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues.

Hi,

I agree with Grim about the exercise. I have been a bad girl and have not gone to my trainer which I was doing diligently and my weight has flown off in the last 30 days effortlessly. I am almost afraid to start working out again (other than cardio) for fear my weight loss will slow to nothing. I just want to get to goal. Is that the saddest excuse to not do weight training? LOL Still walking a bit so not as consistent.

Isn't that so strange?! And listen girl I hear you about the excuse. I've secretly delighted in my injury slowing me down. It's a good excuse to not do what I need to do lol soooo bad.

Congratulations. Weight loss does not go in a straight line. I had random bigger loss months further out. Totally normal

Thanks! That's reassuring to hear. I was just shocked by the amount. But not mad about it!
