Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum, and I have my surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous because I have never had surgery before. But, I'm excited about the future. Any words of advice for someone who is just starting this journey?

Good luck! Remember to walk frequently, sip liquid often, and follow your surgeons orders!!

Take a chapstick with you to the hospital :) you will have some serious cottonmouth and might not have permission to drink anything right away

Congrats on your surgery! Some people have pain while others don't but don't hesitate to take your pain meds to stay comfortable.

Definite keys: sip as many fluids as you can, walk, walk, walk and get lots of rest. Everything else will come with time.

Good luck tomorrow.

Congratulations and get ready to live life as it was meant to be lived. Advice? Follow the rules, remember this is a tool and you have to do your part and take it one day at a time. You will get there and if you have not done so make a weight loss bucket list Great motivator when you hit speed bumps

I gave you some links with great suggestions for surgery on your blog entry.

Good luck with surgery tomorrow! Sip, sip ,sip your water when you are allowed to have it and walk walk walk as much as possible. Walking helped me with the built up gas. Follow your doctor's instruction for your food intake in the weeks to come. Take complete advantage of you 12-18 month honeymoon period to learn how to use your new tool. Finally, bookmark this website and come here daily. The veterans here are so supportive and helpful with any questions. Welcome to the losers bench.
