Any advice? I'm feeling frustrated!

While what Kat and Julia said are true, if I am reading this right you gained 6lbs in 6 days?

You did not gain six pounds of fat unless you binged on 18,000+ calories this week.

I am naturally a big fluctuator some aren't. It could be changes in choices, more sodium, bathroom habits.

I always felt it was good to change it up periodically- choose different foods, add some fat etc.

Lol, no, of course I didn't consume that much. Don't think I could even if I tried. I keep thinking it has to be water retention or something. I always seem to easily retain water, though I feel like I am increasing my water intake

Are you weighing yourself at the same time everyday? I always weigh after my first bathroom session in the morning and with minimal clothes on, no shoes, and using the same scale. That helps minimize any variables that could skew my data.

Yes, I weigh at the same time, every time, very little clothes on and after I use the bathroom first thing in the morning.

You've gotten great advice and I'm confident you'll continue losing if you make the suggested adjustments.

I just wanted to encourage you a bit. At eight (?) months out or so you've got many more months of losing left before you body snaps back and stops malabsorbing. Most people lose relatively easily for the first year; some are blessed with 18 months before it gets a little harder. Don't get me wrong - it's imperative to pay close attention to carbs and calories from the get go, but try not to worry too hard just yet.

You might benefit from putting the scale away for a while. I know I did.

Good luck. You're going to be fine. =)

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement.

Another echo of what everyone said.

i know for me, I need to be under 30g carbs to lose.

daily weighing is really important for me, because like NY Mom, my weight fluctuates a lot. Like, a lot, a lot. I can have a 5-6 pound swing on any given day. So weighing daily lets me look at the weekly and monthly averages. That way, daily jumps don't stress me out. It's the trends that are important.

and as NYMom said, it's not likely you could gain 6 pounds of actual fat in a week.

I'd listen to the advice given, re dropping some carbs, and upping protein, and increasing fluids. But I also wouldn't panic, or make any drastic changes yet.

things do slow down quite a bit after the first few months, but I kept losing - albeit slowly - for 18 months. Just keep your nose to the grindstone. You really do have to buckle down even more after the first 9-12 months if you want to keep losing.

mixing it up, like others have suggested, sounds like a good plan. I'm not particularly carb sensitive (although I know a lot of people *are*), but I'm very salt sensitive. Hopefully if you mix things up a bit, you'll be able to figure out what's causing your gain. Hopefully it's just salt or bathroom issues, but if not, you'll figure it if you mix things up for a few weeks (e.g., fewer carbs and/or more water)
