Weight loss 2 weeks post op

I am nearly two weeks post op and have lost 12 pounds. I'm concerned as I lost that all the first week and have lost nothing since Sunday. I am wondering if I am eating too little/not frequently enough or if this is normal. I am not hungry, have no appetite and nothing is appealing so I force myself to eat a few times a day but wondering if I should be changing it. I generally eat 1 tbsp of apple sauce with meds around 10:00 (I don't get up until around 9:30 because I also can't sleep), usually one yogurt with protein powder around 12, some strained cream soup (1/2 cup) around 5 and protein pudding or broth or yogurt and cottage cheese around 9 - I go to sleep around 2am so this is not too late. I did have thinned oatmeal one day this week (as directed by dietician) but won't do that again as I'm sure the carbs didn't help me. I do have a premier protein split up over the day some days but not in the last three as they got too sweet, I added it in for breakfast today. My fitness pal shows I'm generally around 400 cals a day. Anyway...thoughts on if I need to eat more frequently/change my foods/anything else I should be doing?

It's common to hit a bit of a stall at this point. If you search "three week stall" in the search bar you'll get a ton of results. Im just over 3 weeks out and started stalling at the end of my second week and just kind of stayed stagnant and am just maybe kind of moving down the scale again.

Your diet seems ok to me, but I probably wouldn't have the oatmeal again either. You're doing fine :)

I wondered about a stall but it would have started only one week post op and that seems quite early. Thanks for the reassurance.

My post-op stall started after week one and lasted for almost 3 weeks. I lose about 2 lbs a week now. Hang in there!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, I kept thinking I wasn't eating enough but am definitely eating more than you but still in the 400 - 600 calorie a day range, I finally found sugar free yogurt so now that's gone down from 90 calories to only 35. I'm also not using skim milk in cream soups as my husband won't drink it and with only 2 of us it doesn't make sense 2 buy 2 kinds of milk I'm also still managing 1 Splash protein drink a day which provides 24 gr of protein. I've still got 2 Premier Protein shakes left in the fridge but I haven't been able to bring myself to have one the last few days.

I'm hoping I can get more protein when I move onto pureed food as I'm going back to work Monday I'm going to try a couple new things tomorrow, I'm really hoping the egg goes well I like eggs. I'm going to try to make a version of sheppards pie with pureed beef and mashed cauliflower. I did manage to find some small cod portions that I'll try although I've always preferred my fish battered with chips .

I lost 11 pounds last week and when I weighed myself this am was only down 3 pounds for this week. I'm trying not to weigh myself daily cause at this point it can get kind of depressing.

It's nice to hear you're not moving far either, even if it's not nice for you I appreciate knowing. I am really looking forward to purées, I bought a bunch of stuff at Costco and Food Basics yesterday. I am Going to try refried beans since they are simple and have the stuff to make the famous ricotta bake to blend. I might actually Try the beans tomorrow instead of Monday because I just so need to have something other than liquid lol. I too prefer my fish and chips but bought some tilapia to try, now to find a saucy recipe to try. Curious to know how adding some stuff tomorrow goes for you, smart to add it before going back to work Monday. I am finding myself obsessed every morning so I might need to stop weighing daily too.

I get around 600 calories a day. More than have of them are from my protein shake (1 premier protein + 6 scoops of protein powder). I split it into two and drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

For breakfast, I tend to have yogurt, for lunch, I have cottage cheese and for supper I've been having soup + protein powder. (I have about 1/4 cup each meal).

I just started puréed food today, but my calories are similar.

I've lost 10lbs since surgery and haven't lost much in the past 4 days or so. I just keep trying to remember that weight loss isn't linear and that I often loose in chunks. I don't weigh myself often either, I try to limit to once a week.
