Mind games

My mind was playing tricks on me today. My schedule switched so I work noon til 1030 at night right now. Before when I'd work evenings I would stop at fast food and eat on my way home so I could get to bed at a reasonable time. It took all of my energy to not go through a drive thru and binge eat tonight. While passing the fast food restraunts my mind was telling me how good my old favorites would taste at each place! I didn't go through all of this to fall back into old habits!!

Just needed to vent, tried telling DH about how proud I was that I didn't stop and he just blew it off.

I get it! My husband is a gamer and goes out gaming with the guys 3 nights a week. Those were my nights to "treat myself." Usually meant my favorite fast food. It's hard now, passing by those places on game nights on my way home!

Congrats for not stopping, it's times like those that are especially hard. Might be easier if you can plan on having something quick to eat when you get home, or at your last dinner/snack break.

I went home and ate some chicken and cheese. As I was driving past the restraunts I kept telling myself that I have food at home

My fast food treat was pizza. I might do a slice a week now. Before it was 2 slices and a Coke and then sometimes I'd still eat dinner.

My my new motto is... Pizza: it's not a snack!

There's a gas station chain around these parts (don't know how widespread they are) called Casey's. They have the BEST pizza. I had to get 2 slices every time I got gas.

I got gas yesterday and it took a LOT of willpower to not go inside and get a slice. I even told myself that I'd just eat the toppings. I made myself get back in the car without going inside, and will probably just need to find a new place to fuel up from now on...

I live in NYC and pizza is like a religion here. I'm not super picky but there are definitely "pizza snobs" here that would disapprove of pizza at a gas station.

Oersonally i I think pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Lol I know it sounds crazy. But pizza is actually a big part of their business, they deliver and everything. There are certainly better places to go if you're set on eating pizza, but for a gas station, it's really good!

also one of my favorite Kansas City BBQ places is in a gas station :P there's a line around the building every night to eat there.

I've always wanted to visit KC for the BBQ. We have some decent transplants here but there's nothing like the real thing.

I believe it about about gas stations serving great food. Gas stations in NYC are mostly crap probably because there's no real "car culture" to speak of. But I have spent time out West and I've seen some pretty fancy gas stations.
