5 day update

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to give a little update, sense I was kind of out of it with my last post. I'm not sure if I experienced any more or less pain than the average RNYer, but things have improved so much! My pain is well under control and I'm even off the Oxy they sent me home with (just using Tylenol and Celebrex). I'm going up and down the stairs in my house about 6 times a day and am walking my dog but I still have to sit down about every 50 feet or so.

Maybe someone can advise, I've been having some back pain and I'm sure it's a result of bad posture and awkward positions because of the stomach pain, but does anyone remember if they experienced this, if it just went away in a few days, or if you had to do something specific to relieve the pain?

Thanks a ton!

I had some soreness from my weird posture in the first couple of weeks. My surgeon suggested getting a heating pad, and it helped a lot!

I had no back pain beyond weird discomfort around my shoulder blades, which seemed related to gas retention immediately after surgery, so can't really advise you about that. But I did want to say good job! It sounds like you're doing great overall and are moving a good amount. That's wonderful!

It sounds like you are doing great!! Good job! The tiredness is pretty normal, I was so annoyed when I went from doing 60 minutes on the treadmill (presurgery) to having to "work up to 10 minutes walking in a row"!

I had/have some weird pains that they say are positional/due to body changes. Just be sure to keep your healthcare team aware so they can help decide if it's serious/if it's just shrinking pains!

Celebrex is an N-Said, where did you get that? I had to go off it before they'd approve me for surgery, it's definitely on the NoNo list that I have.
