No closer to knowing what is going on

Still can't eat without getting sick. I can eat lettuce/tomatoes but that is it. Every other thing I eat and I've been getting sick. Everything I drink from water to premiere protein has been making me sick. So I take anti nausea pills. They have ran all blood tests, and Mri's. Just got told my MRI's look normal and my blood tests look fine... except for my Iron saturation % is low.. 13% and my blood protein is high 8.5. Everything else is within normal range and by everything I mean everything. I'm at my wits end on what to do, or what else to suggest to do without starting to sound crazy.

I'm willing to post all my bloodwork tests here if any of you vets would like to see what they show.

Do you take acid medicine? Acid reflux and I found out recently we can get bile reflux as well.... can cause nausea and even vomiting. At one point when my acid was so bad it hurt to drink water.

While most people don't have reflux problems with RNY some do. I am one of them.

I am in a mystery situation myself right now...so I sympathize.

I agree with Cynthia. I had issues with nausea as well and my doctor put me on Prilosec even though I didn't have reflux symptoms. I was told that after WLS the symptoms can be different or even absent. In any case it solved most of my issues so I will assume that was the problem.

I am on Omeprizole, and carafate. And I also take over the counter prilosec. Sadly I still get sick with almost everything I eat/drink and if I don't get sick I end up getting dumping syndrome like symptoms. I'm about at my wits end trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

One thing that was mentioned to me as a possibility is gastroparesis. Have they checked you out for that?

I'll ask about this and see what they say.

What do you mean by "dumping syndrome like symptoms?"

Have you had an EGD endoscopy recently? If so, what were the results? If not, you should push for one right away.

Yep and nothing showed up other than some redness which was tested for h-pylori and found to be negative. Other than that I was told it looked great.

Has all of your work to this point been with a single doctor? If the current provider doesn't have any answers, it may be time to find a different doctor for a second opinion.
