Did you buy popsicles ir make it yourself? If so, do you have a trusty recipe?

I just bought the SF Popsicle brand ones-I think it was the tropical variety. As you move to the mush foods...a great option is adding SF instant pudding powder to plain greek yogurt. I found that option when I realized my pouch does not like sugar alcohols and the premade SF puddings have sugar alcohols.

I know realised that most of the good protein powders have 1,0grams of sugar per serving. I guess only time will tell on how much should I be afraid of any sugars. Want to make some popsicles in advance to have on hand, if needed. Thought maybe coconu****er or nut milk and if I could put some protein that would be great. But again most if nut milks have sugar.

Other folks have answered about the loose skin (gonna happen, no easy fix) and hair loss (gonna happen, will fix itself), but regarding the protein shakes, you can certainly use available powders. Since you're doing RNY, you'll want to get powders that are 100% whey protein ISOLATE, not concentrate. Whey protein isolate is more readily absorbed by your modified digestive system, so if it says 20g of protein, you'll be getting almost all of it. Will concentrate, you'll absorb significantly less which can be a problem in the early days when you're healing.

Make sure you read the labels closely. I've had good luck with shops that cater to body-builders, even if I do feel a little out of place!

My only worrie with Whey is that I might be lactose intolerant but I have geard that people with isolate don't get any symptoms so will give that a try.

Hmm, whey protein might be tricky for you, then. I've heard the same thing, but I don't quite believe it. If you do try it, make sure the shop has a good return policy in case it makes you ill. There are also beef-based ones. One I've tried is Carnivor and it doesn't taste like a meat shake at all--it comes in the regular chocolate etc flavors. :D There are also pea protein-based ones, but to be honest, I'm not sure how well-absorbed the pea ones are.

If the whey ones give you a slight problem, you might be able to mitigate it with a Lactaid tablet. Trial and error!

I am lactose intolerant, I found out after surgery. But I have no problems with whey protein isolate- there is no lactose in it. If you are looking for a powder I would recommend Syntrax Nectar. Amazon has a sampler that has 15 flavors, so you can find out what you like. My favorites are Roadside Lemonade, Fuzzy Navel and Twisted Cherry. I still use them now to get additional protein at 10 months out.
