Anyone else doing Peloton as part of their exercise? We could follow and encourage one another within the Peleton system.

You could probably guess my username - SpinSkater :)

Hope to see your requests to follow each other pop up on the system.

I'm 12 rides in so far and loving it. I got the bike the Monday before Thanksgiving during their annual promotion.

Edit - might be nice if I spell the name correct

You can always use his bike, if he is close to you. The account fee is for the bike. You can have many, many, many users on a bike - something between 100 and 200 I think they told me. So you can play around with it ;)

I used the purchase as my goal incentive, so when I click into the peddles - I get a little smile on my face. I thought it was a bit hokey before I purchased, but it is addictive. The metrics reported are amazing. I find I compare across rides and figure learn how I can burn more calories, etc.. You also have access to Yoga, floor exercise classes, tabata..... you can stream the signal to any smart TV in the house. I've done a few floor classes that way. You don't have to use the bike screen to do those. You will need Delta Look cleats to use the bike. I bought some cleat adapters for my wife (assuming she'll ever want to try it - $35 for that). I'll have to clip in the adapters and then she can just use her gym shoes. Without those or the bike shoes, it would be impossible to use the bike.

I have an old fashion bike. I love riding outside and seeing the outdoors and love it when I ride with friends. You LOOK AMAZING. Way to go!

my journey pictures. Oddly the lowest picture - I'm wearing that shirt as I type this. I'm probably 10 below that picture.

What an awesome transformation you have made! You look wonderful, and your bike sounds amazing. It's on my list for a possible future purchase - it's on the pricey side for me. I've had 3 exercise bikes in the past, only one of which I really used, but it didn't make a previous move with me. The others ended up being covered in hanging clothes, etc. But the Peloton looks very snazzy and fun to use.

The bike is just the vehicle. What makes Peloton fun is the content. You're right. why do some things become clothes magnets (like my treadmill right now). The classes are fun. Period. They have great music and choreography. It's almost like dancing on the bike. Last friday was a perfect example. They had a 45 minute 70s session. The warm up song was Pure Praire League - AMIE. I was singing loud. My dogs actually came down to the basement. Then my wife - covering her ears. Then the instructor said - "how many of you are singing right now at home." The whole session was a blast. You can ride to the genre of your liking. I love country and did a 45 minute country ride this morning. That's the real fun. The bike is cool because the controls are very precise in terms of feedback. In my health club spin class you adjust and go by feel only. The Peloton instructor can say - check in is 35 to 50 on resistance. I can then hit the number expected to get a great workout. All that together is what makes Peloton a pretty successful business model. They aren't a spin bike company. They are an exercise content company. The bike is just a high quality vehicle to deliver on that.

Sounds fantastic! And now I have "Amie! What you wanna do?" stuck in my head. Good thing it's a great song!

So, Im committing myself to riding 50 miles on my Peloton this month, I've been going short and slow so far but it's time to get serious.

I'm on the Peloton bandwagon if anyone would like to follow me for some mutual support. #mzzzcotton is me.
