Hello everyone,Good afternoon I would like to know what anti-allergies medicines are recommended after the bypass. Are there restrictions? thank you so much.
The only thing I avoid is anything that has too much sugar, alcohol, and any aspirin.
Some allergy meds contains ephedrine. It is a stimulant that can make someone's heart racing, and feel jittery. Because our new stomach is still, it is close to imposible to take that with enough food. Some people absorb that rather fast and may become very uncomfortable. Watch for that.
Over the yours I used generic Allegra, zyrtec and zantac. Benadryl - but only before bed.
For localized itching - allergic reaction, I use OTC cortisone cream or benadryl cream.

I take reactine...the 24 hour pill. Before surgery the clinic mentioned it might not be as effective depending if I absorb it properly but I have had no problems and it lasts as long as it did before surgery. Everyone is different I guess and you'll have to see where you end up on that scale but I think just try whatever you used before and see if it still works.
