Good Morning!

Daisy, I hope your migraine goes away. I have only ever had one true migraine in my life and it was completely awful. I'm sorry you are feeling unwell.

I did not get observed yesterday. I didn't even see one of the coordinators or supervisors - but I heard they were in the building. Maybe it's because I am 23 years into teaching and they went to see the newbies? Idk, but I am not complaining.

1 year out and 163.5 this morning.

B: an egg

MS: protein shake with morning vitamins

L: last of the leftover roast with a few carrots and potatoes

AS: ? Today is a snack table - I may or may not partake

D: ham loaf with roasted veggies

lots of water

No gym tonight because we are supposed to go get my car from the dealership! The part came in yesterday and they called last night to say it would be fixed and ready for pick up at the end of the day. I will be so happy to have it back!

Good Morning Daisy,

I'm very sorry to hear you are still suffering from the migraine, hopefully you can get to the ER or do whatever needs to be done to get the taken care of today.

QOTD: A big yes on this one. I actually remember pre-op during winter I always set my thermostat at 68 or 69 degrees and it felt perfect to me. Now, my preferred temperature range is firmly 72 or 73ish. I'll love to see how are different in the summer. I used to never really get out because it would always be "so hot" and I'd sweat and I hate sweating lol

Hi all

QOTD: YES~~~~~ Super cold. The last 3 days I've been colder than usual so feeling a bit under the weather.

Zooey decided to start retching on the bed last night- not sure what the issue is but I will have to clean the carpet when I get home.

Think its a bit of a virus plus stress and my belly has been upset.

Made it to the gym and it was more crowded than usual. only did 2 sets and I did run for 5 min straight- man I'm out of practice running and really hate running on a treadmill. I feel so unbalanced like I'm going to fall off. It does help me learn pace though so I suppose I will continue.

I ate well yesterday but the scale went up this morning anyway.

Food for today:

coffee

water

crack chicken

crack chicken

pork roast veggies

not sure on dinner yet

gym after work then have to go take care of dogs

Daisy feel better and try and get those fluids in at least.

QOTD: I was cold the first year even when I still had a lot of weight to lose. Which was weird to me. Now I don't get as cold but my hands they get really cold...

went to Hospital support group last night - They always have a presentation by the dietitian first. She hands out a paper on Intermittant fasting to a room of mostly pre-ops. Are you crazy? So I called her on it- she was like oh it's from the hospital blog which is not just for Bariatric patients. But you are talking to Bariatric patients!! and from what she was saying it was clear she had no idea what Intermittant fasting was. Ugh.

  • Fairlife latte
  • overnight oats with protein
  • chicken soup, breadstick
  • chili on salad
  • protein, apple with peanut butter

ex: gym

Good morning NYMom,

Forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject, but what is intermittent fasting? And why is it bad for bariatric patients?

Thanks :)

IF is to eat in an eight hour window. So you are fasting the other 16. She was talking to a room of mostly pre-ops who have a very specific post surgical diet.

Early out it is hard to get the food in during 16 hours. To me is this going to encourage over stuffing your pouch at a meal to get it in?

Plus when you are eating a small amount at one time, it is hard to go long periods without eating.

We are also prone to blood sugar issues. My worst hypoglycemic episodes were reacting to food after not eating for a long period.

Further out maybe someone could handle it.... but didn't we do this to get off the crazy diet roller coaster?

I was wondering about IF and bariatric patients. What is your opinion on it? I was considering a bit of IF and of course, I am already low carb but the IF had me wondering if it was safe.
