My take on it is in general it is not a good idea for us. IF is to eat in an eight hour window. She was talking to a room of mostly pre-ops.

Early out it is hard to get the food in during 16 hours. To me is this going to encourage over stuffing your pouch at a meal to get it in?

Plus when you are eating s small amount at one time, it is hard to go long periods without eating.

We are also prone to blood sugar issues. My worst hypoglycemic episodes were reacting to food after not eating for a long period.

Further out maybe someone could handle it.... but didn't we do this to get off the crazy diet roller coaster?

Morning all. Yesterday was a rotten day all around. I felt off all day after drinking my first cup of coffee. I did manage to eat 2 scrambled eggs and about a half cup of plain oatmeal over the course of the day. Also had a bowl of my chicken zoodle soup for dinner. The worst was that soon after I got home, we received a registered letter than DW was officially terminated from her job because she isn't able to perform her duties. Her FMLA ran out in December and they didn't take much time to cut her off even though she had worked there for more than 10 years. They are legally able to do that but it is really frustrating. Fortunately, I can get her immediately covered on my health insurance and her disability insurance will (should) continue. That said it makes everything up in the air about the future. I decided to sleep in this morning and take the day off to relax, be with DW and give myself a break.

The doggie treats that I made were a real hit and I might try to make more today. My new dehydrator is scheduled to be delivered today so this weekend I may try making some chicken snacks and people jerky.

QOTD: Yes, I am cold all the time, even when it really isn't that cold outside. I've invested in lots of warm layers including fleece lined leggings and tights that I love. What I have found is that I don't mind the heat any more as such, but the high soupy humidity here in DC is still miserable. Until the humidity hit last summer, I was fine, but then I was still miserable with the 70, 80, 90% humidity.

Menu: not really sure today since things are so up in the air. I'm going to work to get in lots of water and be protein forward.

I am sorry to hear about the termination; hopefully everything will be seamless with continuation of disability insurance. Good for you for taking the day off!

Janet, sorry about your DW's termination. It angers me so much that here in US they can terminate you due to sickness. In other words, it doesn't matter how long you work for them, as soon as you are not useful they get rid of you. I understand corporations are for profit but the lack of empathy makes me see red. Maybe because I grew up in "socialist" Europe where your health is taken care of, no matter what.

I completely agree with you Sheila! DW has worked for them through thick and thin. If it were a large unfeeling corporation, it would make more sense, but this is a small non-profit whose purpose is lobbying for the poor...food aid, healthcare (they even helped write legislation for "Obamacare"!), etc. That said, when it comes to treating their employees fairly, they are horrible. I know that they can do this legally but they have been unsupportive of DW's chronic health needs for years. It may be a blessing in a way that she is separated from them but the emotional toll is horrible.

bad as it is, I am glad to hear that you can switch her over to your health insurance and that she should still be able to get her disability checks. I was thinking about this while I was in the shower this morning - hoping that at least she'd still have insurance coverage.

"Maybe because I grew up in "socialist" Europe where your health is taken care of, no matter what."

That is SO much more humane! Our healthcare delivery system here is terribly lacking for far too many people, and our shameful healthcare statistics demonstrate that. I'm glad that people are finally catching on to that fact, though - and they are! That is where the demand for change begins.
