grocery shopping for the first time.
I couldn't eat chicken for almost 1 1/2 years after surgery. It would get stuck behind my breast bone every single time. Lots of pain and dry heaving. I could eat any kind of ground beef. I would make up some meat loaf with a lean beef/turkey combo. I also ate a lot of eggs during that time. Try things out. You'll find out pretty quick what your body will allow and what it won't.
I second that ricotta bake!! So delicious! Makes me think I'm eating lasagna. I only wish I had tried it sooner! Lately I've been on this baked salmon kick. I have it once a week now. It's my favorite and seems to sit well with my pouch and is very filling! I did however try a pork chop a couple days ago and I don't know if my pouch just didn't like it, if I ate too much or just didn't chew it well enough, but I was in so much pain for a good couple of hours. Kept trying to throw it up to get some relief. It was horrible! So for now I think I'll stay away from pork chops. Everyone is different though. Just make sure whatever you eat you chew it really well!

Second (or third) do not stock up. Your tastes will change, sometimes from one day to the next. One day I could eat chicken, the next it made me ill. I could not eat eggs for a long time. Could not tolerate tuna, or ham, or anythjng the least bit rubbery. I ate and still eat a lot of greek yogurt.
