it's hard to say about the car. I thought they'd declare my old one a loss, too, but they were able to repair it (I was also rear-ended). They just ordered new parts (most of them were plastic) and snapped them on. Fingers crossed they'll be able to do that with yours as well.

I think the issue will be if there's damage to the frame. The car is only worth about 5 or 6k (2013 Hyundai Accent)

I had a total loss a few years ago (really bad accident) and it turned out to be a blessing. When your car is considered totaled they give you the max blue book price for the car. I think I probably got double what the car would have been worth if I were to resell with all of its imperfections. I hope it works out in your favor, too!

I hope that's the case if they have to total it! I wouldn't mind having a new vehicle, I just don't want a car payment. Best case scenario is I can use insurance money plus what we have in savings to buy a new one outright and not have to finance.

I'm sorry to hear this. I drive my cars forever so I know what you mean about car payments. I'm glad you are mostly ok!

The worst is that last September we'd JUST paid off DH's vehicle (we were about to have no car payments as mine has been paid off for a while) and he was rear-ended two weeks later. We decided to upgrade since we wanted to have one vehicle that would be comfortable for road trips, since we take weekend vacations regularly.

My little car is/was nothing spectacular, no bells or whistles, and I only really drive it to work a few times a week and to run errands. DH and I work at the same place and carpool when our shifts are the same (his changes daily, mine doesn't). So if I end up having to buy a new one, it doesn't have to be fancy.

i would be 35 or 27 again. I really wish i could redo my 27th year. I would have had the surgery sooner.

it seems like most people use MyFitnessPal (an app) or something similar (there are a few out there). I still use sparkpeople, which was popular a few years ago but not so much anymore. I still use it because I have about 4-5 years' worth of data on there, and I like to run reports sometimes.
