What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Hey all. Happy Saturday! No big plans for me until tonight... Today, I am going to run some errands and clean the damn house. But then tonight we are heading to see Trevor Noah from the Daily Show!! Given everything happening in politics right now, it should be an especially entertaining evening!

Accountability: Everyone ready for today's cautionary tale?? If you have been on strict Keto for 2 weeks, and haven't eaten anything since 11am...don't get a Blueberry Margarita. I had less than half while waiting for my tacos, and started sweating and feeling incredibly nauseous. Yuck. My tacos came and I couldn't even touch them. I just took them home in a box. When will I learn??? But on the plus side, I have 3 leftover tacos! Back to keto, today.

QOTD: Do you have a favorite mug? Someone bought me a bright red "Keep Calm and Carry On" mug when I was teaching, and I love it so much. It's the perfect shape to keep the coffee a little extra warm. After a decade, it faded from so many trips through the dishwasher that I found another one online and replaced it.

Have to chime in for the QOTD! 23 years ago I gave my Dad a "Big 60 and counting" mug. He gave it back to me this year! Funny Dad, real funny!! LOL

Happy Saturday Morning, All!

busy weekend ahead. We have to leave in about 45 minutes to set up for one of our civics organization's quarterly speaker brunches, then there's the brunch itself, which goes until noon. Then I'm heading down to the Chicago suburbs to meet up with a couple of cousins. These are the two major family historians. I was planning to take a box of my dad's records with me, but I don't know if I'll have time to put one together. Hopefully they'll have enough stuff for us to look at and discuss so they won't miss a box of "goodies" from me (I was hoping they'd be up for a field trip this time instead, but no....). I'll be spending the night tonight with one of them - the third won't be with us until tomorrow. I'll be home late tomorrow night, ready for another busy week. Ugh. (Jim - I don't know if I'll have time, but if I do, are you around this weekend? I'll be in Wheaton)

accountability was fine until I went to the wine & cheese thing last night. It was great fun, but my eating was awful. Too many goodies. I'll be really watching it from here on out. Not easy heading into the holidays, but it must be done...

QOTD: Yes. My first favorite (with the flowers) I posted on here a couple of years ago (see below). Shortly after that, I picked up a cat one for 25 cents at a thrift store. I still love them both, but especially the cat one:

4+ years out:

B: egg strata, coffee with half & half (not sure what else they're having at the brunch, but I'd better stick to the egg strata!)

L: I'll probably still be full from the brunch, so I'll just grab a protein bar or two to take with me on the drive down to Chicago

D: ?? I'll probably be going out somewhere with my cousin. I'm going to insist on a place that has light, healthy choices!!

have a great day, all!!

Good morning, everybody!

We have something fun this morning. The ESPN pregame show for college football is called ESPN GameDay and each week they travel to a different college to tape the show surrounded by the students at the college. This week they are at Baylor for the Baylor/OU game tonight.

My daughter and all of her friends made signs and will be out there - we are hoping that we see her on TV. Her sign is cute, it involves the need for the driver of the OU chuckwagon to attend Mrs. Puff's Boating school after the recent chuckwagon crash. (I will try and find a picture)

Also, each week there is a guest picker who assists Lee Corso (ESPN sportscaster and Burt Reynolds college roommate) to select his projected winner of the game. Since its in Waco, the guest pickers will be Chip and Joanna Gaines.

QOTD: I have a huge Starbucks mug that I love.

Breakfast: Chaffles

Snack: Protein Bar

Lunch: Pork tenderloin

Snack:Light and Fit

Dinner: Pot roast

Sic 'em Bears!
