I've been on liquids since 10/29 and will be for the foreseeable future, so I'm right there with you! Good luck!

I had surgery on 10/29 to try and alleviate my hypoglycemia. I need to be on liquids for 6 weeks, then purees . . . I basically can't have solid flood until 2020. Other than the fact that I'm starving and going out of my mind, I'm ok. So far it hasn't worked as I've had lows every day (soup is very carby) but we'll know for sure after I can eat solid food.

I am sorry I missed it. Hugs. I should try to do liquids + meats only, to see if some of the junk I eat contributes to my back and joints pain. I promise myself every week to do that. Being on liquids only would make me rather miserable. I am glad they did something... Lets hope it's going to work.

Oh, HALA you do not want to do all liquids. I am absolutely miserable. Before surery and even right after it wasn't bad because we had our bodies to feed off of and the hunger went away (slowly) I'm through 3 weeks of it and am hungry every minute of the day. I don't think I can last the full 6 weeks.

Would protein shakes be more satisfying and filling than soup? When I was struggling with solid foods after my lap-band failed, I was no longer able to swallow solid foods without vomiting. Blended with crushed ice, I think protein shakes were pretty filling, and like you, I was not a new pre-op. I still would have liked to chew and was hungry (not downplaying it) but I found them more filling than soup.

I know I have posted about this before but although I despise and refuse to swallow any premixed shake, I really like making them myself in the blender.

I have never considered myself much of an intuitive cook, but in the land of protein shakes, I am some kind of a genius level master-chef... I had about 10 different flavors of protein mixes, plus lots of sugar free syrups and sugar free pudding mixes, and would go to town (usually mixed with plain almond milk). I took most of my inspiration from Egg Face's shake recipes, but there are about a billion to search for on the interwebs!

I'm drinking protein shakes also. For me, they're really not much better, and they're so so sweet, that I can only do about 1-2 a day and need way more than that. I'm trying to keep up with my exercise routine so i'm trying to find a good balance.

I engaged in negotiations with my surgeon and he's allowing me to incorporate greek yogurt/cottage cheese blended with extra milk beginning Wednesday (beginnin of my fourth week) and I'm hoping that will hold me more.

I am glad your surgeon is willing to listen and work with your needs. I hope this surgery ends up resolving the issues you have had.

Wow, Stacy, didn't know about your surgery. Did I miss it?
Well, misery loves company so I'm happy we are in this together, although yours seems to be really long! Hang in there.
