Sadly, I've never been to an Aldi! I don't think we have one here. I hear so many good/cool things about Aldi's tho! I have HEB, Walmart, Whole Foods and TJs. That's literally it!

Let it begin with me.

Oh yeah you are missing out! Though as long as I have Costco and Trader Joes as well! Aldi is awesome for VALUE. I mean, now that I know about Aldi, I struggle to spend $4 on a box of cereal at the grocery store because the exact same product with a different box is $1.39. Not that we don't have the $2.61 but it's just the principle :) And then they have some unique items like an artichoke/green olive/red pepper salad in a jar that I love.

I love Whole Paycheck but overspend like a mofo there....

I haven't spent enough time in Aldi to fall in love. I find it frustrating that you don't find the same things there twice, and I was totally unimpressed with the K cups. But they have a cult following so I feel like I should give it another shot...

There are a few items I can't get anywhere else (like the artichoke salad) but just their prices in general are SO much lower being off brand. Most of what I get there is for the kids though, now that I think about it. Grapes, cereal, yogurt, noodles, crackers, and so on. I mean their brand of yogurt is half the price and the kids eat about 20 per week. I'm thinking if I were shopping just for me, maybe it wouldn't be a weekly thing!

No Aldi's here either. Is it a discount grocery store?

Rumor has it, the brother of the Trader Joe's founder started it. It's discount in the sense that things are not beautifully displayed. Boxes of product on shelves is as fancy as you get. But they have their own brand called Friendly Farms. So it's not like they have a pallet of saltines for sale. They have "Friendly Farms soup crackers". They don't have "Cinnamon Toast Crunch", they have "Cinnamon Square Cereal". The quality is great and the prices are insanely low.

Good morning everyone.

i had a rough night. Pain is just off the charts. I did way to much yesterday. Also just not feeling well. I sound like a really broken record.

Today looks to be somewhat busy. My mom wants to take some stuff to the thrift store. I need to call in some prescriptions.

qotd: not much I can think of at the moment.

food is up in the air. Stomach is upset.

Hi JB and all,

Work has been bananas so I have been lurking and not participating. Will try to prioritize participating!

QOTD: OMG my first job out of school was with a PYRAMID SCHEME! In the interview they were super evasive, and I agreed to do a one day seminar prior to day 1 and within like seven minutes I realized that I was being recruited for a pyramid scheme. Now, I would stand up and walk out. Then, I was not as self-assured, so I escaped quietly at lunch. Ugh, I shudder to remember that morning I will never get back...

B: Boars Head ever roast chicken and munster cheese

L: the last of a crab cake, I have been eating this for 3 days since I am the only one and it's a 16 oz container of crab from Costco - I think I perfected my recipe!

D: TBD, either crock pot chicken thighs OR, if I can escape to run to Marshalls (it opens today! Hallelujah!) then I may grab some take-out on the way home to give myself a break :)

You would be really good at a pyramid scheme, they must have been heartbroken that you left.
