Good Morning JB and Menuers,

Well I was going to try to take tomorrow off as well but it doesn't look like it is a good idea. For one I have to get all price changes out for my customers because we have manufacturers raising prices like crazy. One of them actually raised the price of procedure mask to over 700% what we could sell for $3.61 a box is now $27 a box. This is crazy and they should be arrested. But there is nothing we can do. Also I got a jury summons and tonight after 5 I will know if I have to report for jury duty. If I do it will start on Tuesday. I am not bumming about it. I'll be fine either way if I have to go or I can come to work. However in the back of my mind I'd really like to get on a trial.

JB I hope you have a garbage disposal for that trail mix. That is they only thing that would keep me from eating the full container.

QOTD: I do not think Pennsylvania has there act together. There are new guidelines every day here. They open restaurants they close them now your allowed to dine outside. We could have gatherings of 250 now it's only 50 and it has to be outside. Myself I have not eaten out since this whole thing started and I only go to the grocery and Target to get what I absolutely need. But the new case numbers have skyrocketed since they opened up and now they are trying to slow it down again. I had gone to Walmart and less than half of the people had on mask and the governor has mandated we wear them. No one seems to care and it is getting much worse here. I talked to my PCP yesterday and he said that he is reading that one of the side effects after contracting Covid it Uncontrollable Diabetes. He said so all these kids getting it and thinking it is over are in for a rude awakening when they have to live with diabetes or whatever other side effect that come with it.

Some of the lingering effects they are already seeing are terrifying....and who knows what the long term ones will be. Thinking of all the things we know more about that left long term damage and how much we still have to learn about C-19, it's overwhelming.

QOTD: I am also in Texas and it is a hot mess here. We hovered around 1,000 cases a day the first two months, but now numbers are skyrocketing. And no, it is not just because of more testing. Our percent positive tests are up, too.

We had over 10,000 cases yesterday. For perspective, New York had 11,000 cases on their worst day. I fear our numbers will keep going up because too many people here believe it is a hoax. I was happy to see the Texas Republican Convention was finally cancelled here in Houston yesterday. The big whigs were going to do their speeches virtually, which is interesting to me. They certainly give mixed messages.

G'morning everybody!

I know I have too much time on my hands because I conducted a poll amongst my friends about the bra wearing system. Majority hooks in the front and twists it back. I tried yesterday to put my hands through the loops and hook them in the back. I did it but I was wondering all day which row of hooks I put them in (it's very important to me if it's second or third row) and I wasn't sure if both hooks were in or in the same row. These existential questions would drive me crazy all day if I wore my bra hands through loop. OK, science experiment over.

QOTD: CA is such a big state that although the governor tried to do the right thing some areas really screwed up. That's why our numbers are so high, almost 10,000 cases a day. But they are mostly in the south. My county has one of the smallest numbers. I hate to say this but it comes down to if it's blue or red. You can't find a bluer county than ours. On that note DH's company has given a new iPhone to all employees, about 2000 of them in Silicon Valley, that has a contact tracking device. He just received it. I know as Americans we value our privacy, but they are doing it to make sure they don't have clusters because now they are moving into the next phase of 50% of employees being at work. Don't know if you remember they started with 25% (1 week of the month you go in). So a new world when your company knows where you are at all times and checks your temps when you are close to work. The tracking is only between employees, their Bluetooths talking to each other.

Accountability: yay again!

My meals yesterday:

B: 2 hb eggs+ coffee

L: loaded taco quest chips & shredded cheese ( I made nachos!)

S: coffee icecream mug cake

D: skipped

E: 4.1 miles hill wog

Interesting about the phones -- honestly, I think about going back to one phone for personal, one phone for work frequently -- I had separate ones up until about 2009. Is the company requiring them to load temp information daily and carry the phones all the time, or just during "business" hours....do we still have business hours or is it all just one big mash up of time? For the most part, we are very far from going back in, no leader is allowed to request their teams do so until Sept 14 (but that date was put out there before Florida's cases exploded so given our HQ is in Florida, this will probably change) but I know in our logistics centers, they have to go through a temp check every day. When I was going in and out of the hospital to see my mom, they took temperatures, your name off your ID, what time you checked in, and where you were going both for ensuring the patients only had their 1 per 24 hour visitor and also for potential contact tracing. I know the contract trace thing apple deployed is on my phone but I haven't turned it on.

So they are supposed to answer certain questions every day that they go in. Their temp also gets registered when they go into buildings. 2 weeks at work, 2 weeks from home. They are more than welcome to carry two phones but DH hates that. I don't know if you remember me telling the story that the CEO has made a deal with the "devil" to show America can get back to work. That's why they are doing all this. Also, the company has offices in Asia that are working full time so fretting why in US they are falling behind. If you have medical reasons why you can't be at work (asthmatic child or something along that line) then the managers have to fill the quota of 50%, so they had sent an email out asking if folks are willing to come in both shifts instead of two weeks home and two weeks at the office. Seems like a futuristic company in the movies run by robots if you ask me!
And the funny thing is these are bunch of engineers that are capable of working from home much better than in the office. DH tells me his days are now longer (no 1.5 hr commute each way) and more productive than before COVID. He starts around 8:30 and doesn't stop till 7:30, well maybe a short surf session somewhere during the day!

That is crazy!! I think when things stabilize again, employers that try to stick to the old ways (like everyone in the office every day) and going to have a lot of retention issues!

Good morning!

Yesterday ended up being quite the busy day, and I've got held over work on my desk to tackle as well as new, incoming requests. Enjoyed my PT session yesterday. She is a high level yoga instructor as well, and between the therapeutic manipulations and the yoga poses she assigns, my gut is feeling better and more "normal" each week. I really cannot recommend a "pelvic floor" physical therapy specialist enough after any type of abdominal/core injury or surgery.I worked with one after my hysterectomy when I couldn't get comfortable, and now after WLS. My surgeon has even asked for her referral information for her other patients. And I am loving yoga. I am beginning to feel defined muscle where I have never felt it before. I hope to keep building on this trend. Today I have a tele-med appt with the surgeon to go over my latest blood work. I feel like she'll be pleased with were I am at.

QOTD: I think CA really tried. Newsome went all in early, and most are compliant. But we (here in San Diego County) have had new outbreaks and we are being closed back down again to some level. It is very rare to see a person in close quarters without their mask, but there are definitely still a good amount of people who find it a violation of their civil rights and fight it as much as possible. Excuse me, but, I'm gonna be really pissed if you being such a big baby ends up with me or my Dad getting sick. Suck it up folks, and lets get through this thing with a little grace and kindness.

Men:

B: coffee and 1/2 PP shake

L: day 4 of chipolte's leftovers and some new bacon bbq whisps to try!

D: chicken legs. Trying them in the air fryer. And salad

S: 1/2 PP shake and if needed, beef jerky

Peace everybody!

QOTD- I think our governor handled this really well. A lot of people are not happy that the Portland Metro areas 3 counties are still on Phase 1 of reopening. Masks are required in public indoor places, and most people are compliant. My company is saying for everyone to work from home, and if more than 1 person is in an office to wear a mask. But I have one co-worker who will not do it, and does not wear a mask and thinks this is all a hoax. And my Mom tells me that my brother who lives in Northern California believes this is all caused by the democrats, and don't believe the news, and was telling her what news to watch. And my roommate swears that this virus was weaponized. So much stupidity out there. That being said I do want to get back to normal, whatever that may be but not at the expense of more deaths.

Trying to stay on track with logging my food and walking every day. Some people when I'm walking don't get the social distancing or just don't care. I need to start doing some core exercises and weights, but figure the cardio is most important right now. Just to deal with the constant stress.

I'm going to do a Zoom session with my counselor I'm so looking forward to that. So much to tell her.

I'm not sure what my cat will do when I have to go back to the office. He comes in and won't stop meowing until I pick him up and put him on my lap.

Have a great Friday eve everyone!
