Best way to take the Bariatric MV for first time?

I just had RNY on Wednesday, and was told on day 3 to start taking my MV. It is in a soft capsule. Any advice or recommendations on how to go about this? I am kind of scared.

I prefer chewables, but you should have no problem taking the capsule. Sometimes taking with a spoonful of applesauce is easier than with jus****er.

At first it was easier to take chewable.

I hated the chewables and switched back to normal pills as soon as they told me I could. No issues taking them, in fact, I'm better at taking them now than before! A tip my nurse cousin gave me is that if you have trouble, when you have the pill and liquid in your mouth, tip your head forward, not back, and then swallow. I haven't tried it though.

I was told I could take any pills that were the size of a pencil eraser (or smaller), so I started taking them whole as soon as I got out of the hospital. The only ones I couldn't swallow whole right away were those giant calcium tablets (so I took chews and powders instead) and (I think...) Ursodiol. I could take those bigger ones by about the 3rd or 4th week post-op.

if your surgeon said it's fine to swallow pills whole, then you should be good to go.
