I think JB is off for the time being -- so starting out.

weekend went well, I did a lot in the house and ran errands on Saturday. I didn't have formal exercise after Friday so I would like to get more into a routine with that in the upcoming weeks. yesterday I prepped 6 chicken meals for me- I did 2 buffalo chicken cauliflower ones, 2 chicken butternut squa****alian ones, and 2 chicken chickpea curry ones.

QOTD: what is something you hated pre op food wise that now you like? or vice versa? I used to hate anything pickled other than pickles and now I love pickled okra, green beans, squash, tomato, etc. I also eat kimchi and that was on the heck no list before. on the flip side, I don't like rice or potato now. I do like a little grits and stuffing still.

food plan:

b: coffee

egg whites/chicken sausage/1 slice 35 cal bread

b2: smart cake/pb fit

l: one of the chicken meals

d: pork chops

s: unsure

Happy Monday!

I don't know what was up with me yesterday - but nothing sat well in my pouch. I threw up a few times and then finally just stopped eating or drinking.. little to say I didn't make any goals yesterday.

QOTD: I haven't discovered anything yet! I also have not really broadened my horizons since I've been allowed solid food - I stick to the few things I know sit well.

That's pretty normal at your point in the process. It wasn't until I was in maintenance that I started to discover what I really enjoyed, filled me up, and sat well in my system

Good Morning! We had a pretty low key weekend. I did go to the sports med dr on Saturday (they have an urgent care). An X-ray did confirm I do have a few things going on with my right foot but I need to have an MRI done to confirm and then create a treatment plan. He's hoping to get the MRI approved so that I can have the MRI this coming weekend. Then of course, it'll be another few weeks to get in and review everything. He did approve elliptical use for now so I'm grateful for that.

Accountability: let's just say yesterday was pretty decent.

Yeah looks like your recovery is moving in the right direction. Glad you have the elliptical to fall back on. Fingers crossed for a quick fix.

Hi All!

I actually managed to get a bunch of stuff checked off my "to do" list this weekend - yay! This will be a fairly busy week - for a retiree - which is one reason I wanted to get a lot of pesky things off my plate heading into this week. Today I have a doctor's appointment and a couple of meetings - and Zumba this evening.

I turned in a "permission to enroll" form to audit three classes at the university this semester. This is kind of nuts, but on the other hand, it'll keep my brain occupied. It's not like I'm going to be able to get out and do much until April, and by then, the semester is almost over.

my friend who's a long-time Jazzercise member sent me (yet again....) an announcement about some new deal going on. I'm fine with Jazzercise but never wanted to spend the money since it's not cheap and my gym has some dance cardio classes, too, but now I'm thinking about it. The local Jazzercise place has 3+ classes most days (they're all online now, btw). I have GOT to get better about daily exercise - there are a ton of youtube videos of cardio dance classes, but there are a lot of days I can't get my butt in gear to do it. I'm wondering if I'd be more apt to if I was paying for it. Maybe.

accountability has been much better this past week except for one day, but my weight is unexplicably up this morning. Figures on the morning I have a doctor's appt. Maybe I'll luck out and they won't weigh me.

QOTD: my first thought is Jello. I hadn't had the stuff in YEARS before I had surgery. Now I often have sugar free Jello in my fridge in case I get the urge to eat something sweet at night. I especially like it with a dollop of light Cool Whip on top (something else I never ate before surgery). I wouldn't say I LOVE it, but I eat it a lot and it hits the spot.

TSS: 5y7m

B: vanilla Greek yogurt, coffee with half & half

MS: protein muffin

L: 1-2 Costco chicken skewers, "power" salad with light dressing

AS: protein shake for sure - I also have lots of low-cal yogurt lying around. And pears.

D: I'm thinking of making this Indian-spiced kidney bean dish that's in one of my Christopher Kimball cookbooks. Decent calorie level and probably super filling

ex: Zumba

im feeling the same about exercise. there are about a zillion free options online you tube, amazon, weigh****chers has free ones for members, the gym has free streaming sessions, but I lack the motivation?? to turn on the tv and exercise.??

realistically- have no excuse for me not to do it?

if I pay or its a zoom I sign up for I do better...

I am waiting on my new iFit bike. I am sure I will feel much more motivated to exercise with that. I also am looking into exercising with Virtual Reality equipment. Sounds like a lot of fun. None of this is free or cheap. But I am investing in my health.

I hope you will like the ifit, I do find the idea of "going" somewhere is really helpful to my motivation....and that was true before covid also!
