Hey OH Gang! I have missed you guys! I just wanted to come on and fill you in on what's been going on, and a decision I made.

So after 5+ years of posting my menu every day, I had to take a break from posting for a few months because of a really intense work schedule. But while I was away, a crazy thing happened... I've lost 8.2 pounds in just under 2 months.

Hmm... I think there are a lot of factors involved. I had recently seen the nutritionist and she put me on a more restrictive calorie plan. Also, I am really busy, so snacking has been easier to avoid.

But I also think that being away from OH might also be a factor in my success? I'd been noticing more and more that my "perfectionist" personality really gets in my way sometimes. Posting my daily menu used to be a great way to plan & stay accountable, but over time it has created more of a stress point when I don't act "perfect", and I think that might have been impeding my success.

I can't say for sure if losing 8 pounds in 2 months is actually causation or just correlation to being away from OH, but I think I am going to just remain a casual poster for awhile and see if taking the stress off from that self-imposed level of accountability continues to help me keep this regain off.

The menu thread will always be close to my heart and I hope you all keep it thriving. Even though I don't think it is right for me right now, it was a huge key to my success early on and I will always be grateful for this community and your support.

OMG you will be so missed! I miss so many people who were on the thread 3 or 4 of 5 years ago - I was hoping we wouldn't lose any more long-timers!! But since you've been starting the whole thread off for most of the last couple of years and finding fun memes every day - well, this will be especially hard! But...you've gotta do what you gotta do.

It's actually kind of a rare day when I follow my posted menu to a "T". I often add an additional snack or two or swap out a meal for something else. So posting my menu doesn't stress me out - but of course people are different. For me, it's more about keeping my head in the game, and also, I enjoy the social interaction, esp these days when I don't have much interaction with others IRL.

anyway, I'm so sorry to hear this news - but of course, I understand. And I do hope you'll pop in once in awhile - or better yet, come back at some point!!

Good for you losing over 8 pounds! I think I may have found them for you, though I have taken a bit of a vacation on weighing lately. Like Trish, I miss a lot of the people who have dropped off and hope you still participate from time to time. But you deserve a break. Thank you for giving us your energy for so long!!!

I really struggled with this decision because I also miss the old crew and I know that when we drop off, it changes the personality of the group a lot...

I will be back for the social aspect for sure but for right now, I am working on being a little kinder to myself so I hope taking off that added (self imposed) pressure will keep me in a better place.

Hit me up when you are back on the Cape and we are all vaccinated! I would love to hang out :)

Hi JB!

Good to hear from you on this Super Bowl Sunday.

You know it's been three years, and I still don't know what a Fit Frappe is . Your daily calories can be close to meal for me. And most of the time my eyes glaze over people's meal descriptions, anyways.

But I always look forward to hearing about your spreadsheets and your real estate investing and your cheese festivals and polo matches. Even the cat.

So please do keep coming around to check in on us. And don't feel a compulsion to bring along your daily macros or scale number. Just you is enough.
