G'morning all!

I know I'm in a minority, but that Reese's doesn't do anything for me. I actually think the combo of chocolate and peanut butter just ruins the flavor of chocolate. And guess what is DH's favorite chocolate? Reese's!!!

QOTD: oh wow, JB, this question****s all the good feelings. We had a pool at our house growing up and during summer our house was party central. My parents would throw multiple days party, sometimes starting on Fri. The kids of their friends would all come and we would have our own version of summer olympics: diving, all the swimming categories, who could hold their breath longer swimming the length of the pool, some sort of shark game, and any other game we could come up with that was in the pool. It was the most fun part of the summer and to this day when I connect with those kids (now all adults) we often reminiscent of those days. Those were truly the good ol'days.

My meals yesterday (ADF)

  • B: fast
  • L: premier protein
  • S: 1/2 barebells protein bar
  • D: 2 hb eggs + tuna pouch
  • Total : 480
  • E: 5 miles jog

Have a great day, y'all.

You guys can have it all. It's one of those items that I could be starving and I wouldn't touch it.
Although, TJ has a dark chocolate pb cup that is not bad and in case of starvation I would eat it.

Aldi mini peanut butter cups are way better than the Reese's. They are also way cheaper. I have had the TJ's dark chocolate and they are better than both the Reese's and Aldi.

Good morning. I'm buckling in, it's going to be a bumpy ride today. One of our newest employee's was 100 % no show yesterday. No call, no text, no answering phones, etc. It seems out of character, what little we know of her after just one month. But her stuff is still in her cubicle and I am very unsettled/concerned about her and the situation. We've got staff out on vacation, so we were short handed to start. Now it's just going to be crazy town. Really weird.

I stayed on track yesterday, did not eat one of my planned snacks. I really didn't exercise for a minute, but was on my feet all day it seems doing kitchen stuff, laundry, prepping for upcoming trip, etc. I need to get back to finding an exercise routine. Falling on the couch at the end of my work day doesn't count.

QoTD: Growing up on Navy bases, my mom would take us to the Chief's club to swim during the summer. That's my clearest memory. Oh and every afternoon she gave me nickel so I could pick a pack of candy from the snack bar. Anybody remember those pink candies that came in little hanging bags? I loved them. Not Necco's. These were fat (like me...coincidence?), a little chewy and I think vaguely peppermint like. Seems like those bags were blue and white. I might need to dig some and see if I can find the name. Just for memories sake. I'd get my bag and my towel and go lay on a chaise lounge and eat my candy. Then home, shower, usually fall asleep, wake up for dinner, play on the green belt until dark (or 7:30 whichever happened first. My Mom was not a fan of kids, and we all had very early bedtimes, even in summer). I'm pretty certain we got the benefit of the pool because her friends were there and she could let the lifeguards take care of us.

menu:

B: 2.5 oz chicken thigh, 1/4 c low fat cottage cheese

L: 3 oz leftover pork chop

D: chicken fajitas, 1 oz avo, 1 tbsp sour cream, 1/2 c refried beans and a good sprinkle of cheddar cheese

S: 1 oz beef jerky, 1/2 serving Parm Whisps

That puts me at 910 calories, 109 protein grams, 27 carb grams

Peace Everyone!

Any updates? Is the employee okay? We just had to do a wellness check on a paraprofessional and she had passed away. So upsetting.

No word at all! We did call the sheriff's and they are going to do a wellness check. We are waiting to hear back. She's not been with us long, but gave no sign of flightiness. And clearly planned on being here Monday when she left on Friday. I am now compulsively checking the news programs for word of anything. Our county has had 5 head on collisions since Thursday, so there is a real fear there. Then factor in my family's understanding of life changing in a eyeblink, well, it's just not good. I so hope she is ok and just dumb or selfish and took another job. Then I will have to murder her if she did and put me through this!

Thinking positive thoughts. We had a similar issue last Fall and it?s hard. It odd to be hoping that someone was just irresponsible but I hope that?s the case.

Good morning! Things are good, I'm staying positive. I'm feeling better and can see in my face that the puffiness is subsiding. Just staying the course because it's working and I'm so pleased!

For me, growing up going to school in Mass with no AC in that humidity was brutal! I don't remember the temps ever being over 100, but the 90's were pretty nasty. Everyone had bright red faces. Hang in there, JB!!

QOTD - The beach! Either all day or a beach house on vacation. Those were my happiest memories.

I had the mahi-mahi burger last night for the first time. I used a little old bay and the air fryer w/a little tartar sauce - YUM!!! I need to get some blackening seasoning now.

Mindful of all the things

E - 30 min power walk on break and a doggy walk after work

Have a wonderful day and stay cool!!
