Helloooooooo and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine was very nice. I worked my butt off on Saturday and got to a decent place. Then Sunday we took a drive up to Kennebunkport Maine which is my favorite vacation spot. We didn't do much--just a few hours of popping in and out of stores and then lunch at the Clam Shack. Yay! It was 72 degrees & sunny and it was lovely to have a day completely disconnected from work :)

Back at it today. I am welcoming a few new staff to our team today and I am thrilled to get them up to speed on a few things that I am desperate to take off my plate! Fingers crossed that it is a smooth onboarding this week.

QOTD: What was your favorite pre-op Fast Food chain? I was never too into typical Fast Food places, probably because I worked at McDonald's as a teen and the smell was just so permeating that it never smelled super appetizing to me, again. But I liked D'Angelo's for sandwiches and Papa Gino's for pizza!

I let myself have lots of "treats" this weekend. I am going to try to get back on track today.

G'morning all!

Back in US and trying to deal with jet-lag. Hence me being up since 2:00 am my time. My body is like "hey, it's 11:00 , shouldn't we get up and do something?" And then by 6:00 pm I'm completely out because once again my body thinks it's almost 3:00 am, why aren't we in bed?

Other than jet-lag, my trip was lovely and very restorative to my soul. It was great seeing my mom, my brother, and my sister who did a quick 3 day trip from UK just for me. We have all gotten older but the dynamics are the same. My brother lives for scaring the sh*t out of me while driving and he hasn't changed at all. He has bought one of the new hybrid Jeeps that look like a tank and loves going off road. I have tons of photos and will share some on the future Fridays.

My meals in Italy were not as strict as I am here, but surprisingly when I weighed myself on Sunday I had gained only 2 lbs. I think it was thanks to my keeping up with my workout routine and portion sizes in Italy. I am planning to go back to ADF for the foreseeable future.

QOTD: Not very big on fast food chains. I loved subway but nowadays can't do it due to the bread. Although they have huge salads, again too big for me. In-n-out was and is still my favorite burger place. Their protein menu is perfect for us.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: coffee + barebells bar
  • L: Mexican (I missed it during the vacay)- burrito bowl, light on rice and beans, heavy on chicken and salsa.
  • S: had to try the new Quest pumpkin bar
  • D:skipped
  • E: rest day

You are not gonna believe this, but I had about 5 lbs of Parm that I totally forgot in my mom's fridge. I had planned to put them in my suitcase last minute , but the morning of my return (at 4:30 am) I totally spaced out. When did I remember? When at check in they weighed my suitcase and I was underweight by, you guessed it, 5 lbs!

What is it they? Crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Whyyyy do I keep letting Mondays happen?

QOTD: before surgery-Taco Bell all day, every day. Now? I love the insides of McDonald's sausage McMuffin . I cannot find a sausage at the store that tastes anything like it. Rarely eat it but love it!
