Good morning! There is wet stuff pouring down all around us. Weird for a So. Cal girl. Dogs are not impressed. I however, am curled up in the big window with my coffee, IPad and my book. So I'm quite content. We planned today as a nothing day after a long and exhausting yesterday. So a lot of rain just adds to the ambiance. Except for brown dog. He's not a fan of peeing in the rain. I might try to do a load of laundry. Using a lot of towels keeping puppy feet clean.
Yesterday we walked and hiked and walked some more. My hip flexors are unimpressed this morning. It's was a great day though. If the rain lets up, I will hit the road again. There's a great switchback to a gorgeous beach a mile or so away. Worth the effort coming back up and I was so happy with myself at how relatively easy I made it up yesterday. Definitely a NSV. I also made almost all good menu choices. So yay me.
QoTD: Blessed to have lots going on. Next up after this trip is celebrating the oldest granddaughter's birthday and Halloween mania. Then a week in Anaheim which caps off with the girls coming up on the train and a day at Disney with them. Then Cabo for Thanksgiving and of course March 31. Retirement day. Time is flying by.

Menu:

B: egg, bacon slice on small puff pastry piece

L: turkey and cheese roll up

D: thinking of trying the Chinese place next door.

Peace everyone!

I am jealous also. I keep hearing of people considering retirement. I see a long road of work ahead of me because my kids still have a couple years of high school then college that will require our support. I was so happy when I was younger with no kids to support so DH and I could travel, while my sisters had young kids to deal with and didn't have the freedom or funds to travel. I love my kids and am glad I had them, but now when people talk about retirement and traveling I am jealous. I guess I want the freedom on both ends of my life! LOL. Someday it will happen for me...

I will be sixty, and have worked with this boss since I was 19. The last 37 years at the same company. I had my babies early and it was hard as hell to feed them and provide for them for a long time. Now they are independent and happy and Momma's turn is here!

Happy Early Friday,

My dinner date with my friend was cancelled today. I was not overly disappointed since I had a low weight loss week last week and don't anything to negatively affect the scale this week. I am trying to be diligent with my eating and exercise to keep on track. The cancellation will keep me on track with eating and I will get my workout in today. I would love to break into the 160's this week (might be a big ask though).

QOTD: I have booked a cruise for March to the Carribean. I have never been on a cruise and have wanted to do one for awhile now. Not sure of our holiday plans but I am hoping that we can get together with extended family. If we can I am looking forward to that.
