What are your plans for today?
Good morning all!
QOTD: What activity are you most looking forward to this summer? For me it is always going to be swimming in the ocean when the water is WARM. The gulf side of south Florida surf reaches the mid 80's and yes it is like bath water, warm and salty. If you have aches and pains this makes it so much better! I am only 20 min to the island beaches, although they are not my fav ones.
This is my weekend, and for my days off we have planned to go and spend some of our Amex points on a top of the line Weber grill at Home Depot. We will pick up some new lounge chairs for the backyard and some more herbs for my container garden. The puppy has a Vet appointment later and she LOVES going there. Anything for attention. Messing around with all this will take most of the day.
Menu. Protein shake, left over Cobb salad from yesterday. AND sometime, maybe not today, RIBS on the new grill, dry rib style, family Florida cracker style.
The term "Florida cracker" is what they called the cowboys who drove cattle across the state cracking their whips. Now days they use that for all natives of Florida whether they are ranchers or not. This was and still is a cattle state.
Good morning, everybody!
Its raining cats and dogs here today. I guess that May showers will bring June flowers this year. Actually, even though its been chilly, our yard is starting to bloom. The grass has already been mowed twice and the ornamental trees are flowering. NO flowers on the peonies, but the leaves are all out on the plants.
I am going to Orlando tomorrow for a two day meeting. I've been to Orlando at least 50 times over the years, so no tourism for me. I am looking forward to the warm weather and connecting with some people.
Marilyn and her tennis friends went to see Journey and Toto last night. They said that they had fun.
QOTD: Aside from vacations and graduation, I would say sitting out on the porch at night.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!

I could sell Weber grills that is how impressed I am with the one I bought in 2006. It sits outside in every weather. Rain snow sleet and hail and looks as good as the day we got her. Just regular maintenance and have changed some inners here and there but well worth every penny.
HW 299 SW 290 CW 139 GW 140 2/08/2019 OPERATION: Surgical Hernia with excision of total surface area of 55 x 29 cm of abdominal skin.
We are back from buying the grill. It was mismarked but the manager gave us $100 store credit to make up the difference, apparently Weber doesn't let them mark down grills. Store credit was promptly spent on "accessories" and propane tanks.
But we have to wait a week to have it delivered assembled. It's worth it.
