What's on your Wednesday Menu?

We're half way through the week already, Gang! Whee! How many throat punches have you thrown so far?
Yesterday was a good day. I got a ton done for both school and cookie world, and I am feeling pretty good about the semester. I was nervous about yet another finance class after my disastrous encounter with accounting, but the math in this one is a lot more straightforward. Even though I cannot imagine when calculating dividend taxes will ever come up in my future!
QOTD: Back to that question we asked our math teachers--"When am I going to use this in real life?" When do you use math in your day-to-day life? Besides the obvious --tipping, sale percentages, and personal banking, I don't do much anymore, but I do use a lot of geometry concepts in cookies. I use the app Procreate to design cookie sets and that requires some understanding of points, lines, angles, etc.
Food was better yesterday but still room for improvement.
B: Protein Coffee & Eggwich
L: Turkey & Cheese roll up
D: Chicken Teriyaki Pineapple Meatballs

I hate to say this, but I hated finance as much as I hated accounting - but hopefully that was just me!
I have my film discussion group today at 10:00. My obnoxious neighbor, who's also in the group, wants to ride with me. She didn't even bother to watch the movie, yet she still wants to go to the discussion. This wasn't the first time she's skipped the movie. So why did she bother joining a film discussion group? With this movie (Navalny), her excuse for no****ching it was "it's very pro-Russian. I'm for Ukraine". Huh? What the hell previews has she seen or reviews has she read? Navalny (the person) is a leader of the Russian opposition - extremely anti-Putin (in fact, he was the target of attempted murder - and Putin was certainly behind it. So...?). I hope she doesn't do much talking and embarrass herself to death. Although maybe that wouldn't be the worst thing. Plus she monopolizes conversations and constantly interrupts people. Drives me insane. Drives everyone in the group insane.
QOTD: other than basic arithmetic, the only time my pretty-much-faded math knowledge has come in handy recently is when I've done redactle puzzles that had something to do with math (if you're not familiar with these puzzles, they take a Wikipedia article and remove all the words except very basic ones such as definite and indefinite articles, and, but, through, various forms of "to be", etc. You guess one word at a time (and it inserts any correct guesses you have into the article****il you figure out what the article is about - or until you give up and shut the whole thing down, whichever comes first.
I haven't really thought out my meal plan today because people sometimes bring snacks to the discussion group, so what they bring and how much I indulge (or not) will affect my eating for the rest of the day. But here's a stab:
B: protein shake, coffee with half & half
MS: ??? (should probably have L&F yogurt with tahini or a couple of Wasa crackers before I go - makes it less risky to overindulge in any snacks that might be there. Or I can take a protein bar with me..)
L: hmmm...maybe some Loma Linda taco filling topped with some tomatoes and a dollop of plain Greek yogurt
AS: L&F or Ratio yogurt
have a great day, everyone!

Tell your obnoxious friend you want to save her some walking, and you'll drop her at the door and then park. Then have the meeting somewhere else.
I just saw a great documentary on Ray and Charles Eames. You'd like it.

Isn't it Navalny not Navatny?
We have a couple like that in our Bookclub but the rule is "your not reading doesn't impact our discussion" so we don't worry about spoilers. For some of the people, I think it's just a social outlet not so much the books. Some people are lonely and if it doesn't bother them to not know what the conversation is about, it doesn't bother me!
Hope you have a good time regardless of the neighbor.

Tell the ***** you got an appointment, and you will be coming right from there. Do not take this woman to the group. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I would tell her that I need to do errands after and can't drive her. I had to do that a few times with people. And even if I got home after, I would claim that I got really tired at the meeting, or had a headache and decided to come home.
