Good morning, everybody!

I think that I am kind of getting sick in slow motion. When I wake up, I have congestion and sore throat and then I kind of forget about it for most of the day. Then the next day the cycle repeats. At some point, I will either get better or get sick, not sure which.

I dint think that I have been sick since surgery 3 plus years ago (except for when I had Bactremia from the dental procedure).

I am going into the office today, mostly because Marilyn wants me to go and get her two pies. They are from a bakery called Hoosier Mama. One is pumpkin and I am freelancing on the other. Chicken pot would probably be received poorly, but I'm tempted.

I do think that this will be my last day in the office for the year. Next week, Marilyn will be out in Colorado for a few days, and then its the holidays. DS has his last day of the Semester today. Finals start on Friday and he is super busy. It seems like just yesterday we were in Seattle on our way to Alaska fo a pre-semester break.

My sleep doctor went fine yesterday. I am on the recall list and supposedly the new machines will be smaller and lighter. That would be great, because the existing one takes up half of my suitcase when I travel. Both Marilyn and I napped from about 11:30 until 12:40 when I got home.

Lisa, I got a fancy brochure from Heitz Cellars over the weekend. Of course, I bit. Martha's Vineyard 3 year vertical on its way. I think that it comes in a commemorative box.

JB, the only thing you have to do is pick up your final paycheck Friday. And even that is probably direct deposited.

Quick hitter today, I have a sleep doctor's appointment. Very tempted to just blow it off and (ironically) go back to bed. I have this and an ultrasound next week and then I am finished with the medical system for 2021.

The boys never responded to the group text, so we just made the decision to let them stay in Chicago. We got our game tickets and brunch reservations for Sunday. Somewhat unsurprising that the big name restaurants are booked for New Years, but the place we are going looks good.

QOTD: I speak in front of groups at work quite a bit, but I am comfortable doing it. Wasn't always that way.

I had JNJ, then Pfizer. The JNJ first shot kind of wiped us out, but not on the second one. I did have to do extra burpees the day after the booster because my arm was too sore to do pull-ups.

Good morning, everybody:

Baylor beat Oklahoma State on a last second defensive stand, so we are going to the Sugar Bowl. We booked our flights and hotel last night and need to get our tickets today. What is the holdup, you ask? Why it's getting the boys to reply to a group text, of course.

I think that they don't want to go to the game because they don't really like football. And it would be easier and cheaper for them to stay home. Plus we have limited hotel space. But I don't want to exclude them from the invitation in the off chance they would feel left out. Most likely they are having somewhat similar thoughts and are trying to think of a way to tell us they are not interested, without hurting our feelings.

In any case DD is fretting about where we are going to sit and whether she can share her hotel room with friends, so hopefully we can work it out this morning.

Because of scheduling conflicts (DD has a wedding on new Year's Eve and DS has plans with friends), we are going to be a bit like the teatotalling Baylor Baptists with $20 in their wallet that are the nightmares of convention bureaus and tourism boards throughout the country. We get into New Orleans on the first at about noontime, the game is 7:30 that night and we fly back to Chicago at 3:00 on the second.

Plus, who goes to Bourbon Street with their children? Awkward.

What we are going to do hopefully is get to an early dinner on Saturday and a brunch on Sunday. Please let me know if you have recommendations! Commander's Palace looked good on the website.

QOTD: I was more of an oversize child than fluffy. When I look at old pictures, I am surprised that I didn't end up with more height than the 6 foot 1 that I peaked at.

Didn't mean to get you in trouble, LOL.

I always thought that NVIDIA made chips for gamers and that your husband's company made them for business computers, but that's probably a vast oversimplification.

I was reading that the reason they made the ruler was that young engineers have spent so much time in the virtual world that they have trouble imagining the physical sizes of things and wanted to give them a reference.

I think that Marilyn ordered him one on EBAY along with the special graph paper he was looking for.
