I was reading that conjunctivitis is a new symptom of covid. Bear it in mind if you're fully vaccinated and unlikely to get all the usual symptoms

Thankfully, I have an older son who is willing to do it when the time is right, and he has two sons, so I'm hoping we can keep it in the family.

Is your ward someone you know, or are you a professional guardian?
I'm set up to become my son's guardian - our hearing is 12/3 and I'm trying to think what we should do once he's in a residential setting and I get too old ? or dead.

I'm 17 years out and haven't noticed any changes the further out I get.
I do, and always have, got the "foamies" if I don't chew my food enough, get something stuck or eat certain foods - notably rice, noodles, pork and sometimes hamburger.
I would say any new symptoms should be reported to your PCP for further investigation or your surgeon's office if you're in some type of long term program.

I'm 17 years out. Had hypothyroidism and am now chugging along on levothyroxine. It's really helped me keep my weight stable without starving myself.
I have type II diabetes which is very well controlled and vitiligo, both of which are mooted as autoimmune diseases and still struggle with iron deficiency.
On the whole, I'm in pretty good shape though, better than I would have been 120+lbs ago.

We had 3 inches of rain in an hour yesterday, I'm going to be happy to watch my neighbor's fireworks.
My dog will be happy once it's all over. "Someone" let's them off at 10pm every night. It's so annoying

I lost 120lbs in just over 5 months to reach a BMI of 21. This is very quick.
The goal is to lose as quickly as possible, so try to lose the excess in 12 months, it definitely gets harder the longer you take. People with a high BMI tend to take longer to get near their goal.
You're doing well, keep it up!

Chris is in our FB group and is doing very well since last year, although still working too many hours.

I've not really had any difficulties and certainly nothing that couldn't be easily treated.
I'm currently at a normal BMI, but have had a few weight ups and downs in the 17 years, but I've never let it get to a point I couldn't work on it.
Being (mostly) compliant with my lifestyle and ALWAYS compliant with my labs and supplements has ensured I've stayed in great health.
Not had one regret.

Anyone 16 and over can get a Covid shot in my state now. In most cases, no appointment is necessary because clinics are now walk ins. It's THAT easy.
A BMI over 30 was a countable co morbidity before the shot was universally available.

Honestly, exercise is not for weightloss, but for health. There are lots of people here who lost their weight and maintained that loss without any formal exercise.
I don't go to the gym or anything, I just walk my dog every day.
Weight loss and maintenance really is what you eat. I never count my exercise calories or use them to eat more food than my allotted calorie intake.
My first suggestion for you is to open up a free account on MyFitnessPal and log EVERYTHING you eat and drink for at least a week. Weigh your food so you are completely honest.
Come back in a week and we can help you with the next steps.

Revisions for weight gain alone are not usually covered by insurance, nor are they wildly successful.
As we age, we do have to eat less, year on year, to maintain our weight.
I've had success losing a bunch of weight and so can you. There is a thread on here by _shane_ that outlines very well how to do so.
A quick fix sounds awesome, but I'd not get hung up on that unless you have a mechanical problem that needs fixing.
Prepare to make the changes necessary to lose the weight and maintain your health as you age.

Unfortunately, it's really quiet here other than the menu thread. There are probably still lots of pertinent info in the history though, if you do a search.
Its a long time ago, but I sailed through my surgery. Off painkillers the day after surgery, out walking with a group within a week and can honestly say I had little discomfort and certainly not pain.
Keep up with fluids and get up and walk - they're the secrets to recovery.
Work hard to lose the excess weight as quickly as possible. Find a way to exercise that you enjoy - I walk my dog 4 miles every morning. Exercise is not for weightloss but for good health.
Vitamins are a non negotiable. I've taken mine faithfully for 17 years and I adjust according to labs.
Find a way to eat that's sustainable - this is not a finite diet but truly a change of lifestyle. Don't squander it.
Good luck

Hey Audrey!
I'm still alive and very much kicking. Have managed to stay positive through isolation.
Got Covid when my son returned to school and a new grandson in September.
I've managed to lose the 10lbs of Covid weight I gained last year and am working on the next 10lbs so I'll look skinnier in a wedding dress when I get married this July.
Glad you are doing ok - don't be a stranger

I lost 58lbs with a keto diet for about 2 months (to get a kickstart) and then switching to low carb (basically no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes). I also gave up alcohol for 6 months.
Losing 60+ lbs is not easy, but it is doable if you can buckle down and get started.
Edited to put total lbs lost in a year
