Hi peeps. I've got ato find a way get on here early. I used to do it before I got out of bed, but hubby and I have a no cell phone before 6 AM rule now, and I'm usually up well before 6. Once I'm moving- getting onhere slip away from me. Its supposed to be wicked hot this week and my AC in my car conked out. Grrr... I've been adjusting well, except for when I get behind a trash truck. Not much going on this week, work home, repeat.

QOTD- to sort through the blah feelings-- counseling. Been doing weekly sessions for a while now and can't tell you how helpful its been.

Eats:

Greek yogurt, whole grain waffle

Plum/pineapple

roast chicken breast, wild rice & (homemmade!) french bread

will likely repeat the same for dinner...

Hi everyone. My tummy finally feels normal so I don't feel grumpy, so I'll come out of hiding :-) I had planned to continue running daily through the summer but this mornign I felt like I needed variety. I decided to do a mishmosh: jumprope, jumping jacks, weights and situps. Yesterday I did one of my workout apps, so I think varierty is what I'm seeking for the moment.

I saw my endocrinologist recently to revisit my thyroid med doasge- my levels were way out of whack. (I have no thyroid gland). Interestingly enough- my high cholesterol (& weight) was what led to realizing the thyroid dosage was off, since one effects the other. Anyway, in chatting with him he offered to help me with weight loss, and suggested meds. He gave me names of 3 to read up on. I'm struggling to decided if I want to try that. Almost feels simialr to the 'do I need surgery debate'. I'm hesitant b/c I do have good habits overall, just need some finetuning. The med he favored has a manufauctring issue- so I've got time.

QOTD- I've been watching Transplant on Hulu- I've really like it. I wish I found a podcast I like- I think I'd enjoy it. But the few I've tried starting I get way too agitated with speech patterns- ums, ahhs, throat clearing...it drives me over the edge.

EATS

Protein shake, cinammon toast

Greek yogurt w/cereal for crunch

Salmon portion, rice & beans

Plum

Not sure what I'll have tonight

Hi RNY'ers. Figured I'd jump in before more of the day gets away from me. I've been feeling icky- tummy still feels unsettled, its not constant icky, but enough to make me grimmace. Work has been blah too. I transtioned from working in municipal HR managment to the union that managment deals with. Bascially its as if Colonel Sanders went to work for Popeyes. Well my old job has basically ghosted me, making the work I'm trying to do for the union hard. Its rare that I get return phone calls or reponses to emails. Very frustrating, and a little demoralizing. Its been over a year, and I'd just like to do my job but they are intimidated/bitter. I'm very casually looking for work to break awy from all the nonsesne-- but this job is not hard at all and pays well.

Weekend: My younger son turns 18 tomorrow! He wants to go to casino, so we'll do that and go the restaurant of his choice.

QOTD: My family has an emergency code, but hell if I remeber what it is LOL. But if I ever tell them 'hey let's go to the zoo'- they should know somethng is up. I HATE the zoo.

Eats:

Oatmeal w/ raspberries/ slice of toast.

Chicken alfredo (something a coworker brought in and wanted me to try)

rest of the day is up in the air

My hubby plants vegtetables. (I do the flower gardening). Before we left for vacation the plants looked a little small for this time of year- and nothing was growing on them yet. But, what a difference a week makes-- the plants are huge-- not sure what's growing on them, I haven't looked. He planted peppers, tomotatoes, eggplant, green beans and zuchinni I believe?

Morning everyone! I traded in using myfitness pal for Lose It, so not sure what MFP did in thier app. Yesterday was a crap day eating. Started off well, but went down hill. My stomach has been upset and my effort to eat bland always leads to carbs. It was pretty bad this morning and I debated going into work. Since I wanted to go out to get imodium anyway, I figured may as well try and carry on. I did exercise. Though I'd never admit it to my high school gym teacher, exercise does help when I feel icky.

QOTD- Running! Second to that would probably be swimming or water aerobics.

Eats:

Toast

Greek yogurt

Protein shake

rest of the day will be depeding on how I feel

Morning! I've been oddly tired since getting back. I'm an early bird-- but the past few mornings I've felt tired. I Didn't work out this morning- I opted to listen to my body and rest.

QOTD: I don't really get question anymore. I never made my surgery common knowledge among friends or family. I never wanted it to be an ongoing point of discussion.

Maybe I'll do an apple workout later, I have a 3 month fre trial.

Eats:

Bagel, scrambled egg whites, ham.

Curry chicken, rice

maybe burgers, maybe leftover tacos.

Greek yogurt at some point.

Afternoon all! I'm all settled in after returning from vacation. We got home overnight Saturday into Sunday. Sunday we just relaxed, did laundry. We picked the dog up from the kennel and she's sick. I'm sure they fed her something other than the food we brought for her. She only ever gets sick when her diet changes-- and more of our food came back than it should of. I will not board with them again.

I was up and did my work out today. Today ended the Memorial Day to Independence Day run streak. I missed about 5 or 6 days in total- but I plan to keep going. I joined a challenge thru work that should keep it interesting. I'm so glad I ironed my work clothes before I left for vacation-- best idea ever! No plans rest of the day.

qotd- I don't mind pubic display fireworks-- but won't seek them out either. Neighborhood ones annoy me. Being in Mexico last week saved us from the ruckus leading up to today.

Exercise 2 mile run- 2 mile walk, sit-ups

protein shake

everything bagel and boiled egg

beef tacos & homemade pick de gallo

Happy Friday RNY'ers! Today is our last day on vacation in Mexico. It's been fantastic- day 1 started a bit sketchy- long travels and hanger- but we've enjoyed everything since. we certainly took advantage of the all inclusive- we've only had two meals outside the resort we've paid for. And traveling with adult children is by far better then with kids.
major notice for me on this trip-- I don't know how to dress myself. I've gained weight- but I'm buying clothes too big, and found myself looking frumpy as a result a few times. Covid made me leery of trying on stuff in stores-- but I need to force myself to. Proudly I exercised everyday, not easy since the gym was crowded every morning. Eating-- i was thoughtful- not determined. Drinking... far less thoughtful... I'm not a huge drinker to begin with...but free is free!

Qotd: something strange in my house-- stale Kaiser roll in my pantry. Got this from my dad-- a house with bread will never go hungry.

Not worth going over my menu- it's manic illogical. travel all day tomorrow, then hopefully just resting Sunday and Monday.

Morning Menu peeps!

A lady I work with, her son runs a bouncy house rental business. It's a a lot of physical works setting those up and breaking them down. And I'd leave any party if I were to be designated the gatekeeper for a bouncy house. I'm in Chicago midway, awaiting out next flight to Cancun. Posting will be just as sketchy as eating for me for the rest of the week.
qotd: knowledge that changed my life: left loosely, righty tighty; the '30 days has September, April June and November' tune, and whatever teacher taught me how to figure percentages. Seriously- those I use pretty much every day.

eats:

(Airport eating) Vanilla greek yogurt with Bella vita biscuit stirred in, nutter butter cookies.
clueless rest of the day-- depends where I am/what I'm doing.

Afternoon folks. I did my run first thing. I'm in week 7 of Couch to 5k, today was a straight 20 minute run. I did well with it-- my pace was a little slower but that was intentional. Did sit-ups and weights too. Today I'm just getting the house together and all our stuff organized to leave tonight. Our flight is at 5am so we have to get to the airport at an ungodly hour.

qotd: I'd love to make my hot cereal healthy. And hot cereal isn't even so bad-- just not the way I make it.

Eats:
Post run protein shake

fried plantains, fried egg, Bologna

rest of day: something simple- not cooking again till we're back.

hey everyone! Weekend is off to a warm start. It was 70 degrees for my run- high of 90. I weeded my garden after my run. Hubby & I went to the bank to get foreign currency, and pick up a few things at old navy. I've got nothing left to do today-- will start packing for our trip.

QOTD- nicknames- I detest them. I named my kids so nicknames can't be drawn from them. My family had a 'nickname' for me as a kid.. it wasn't a nickname-- it was a taunt.

exercise 2 mile run & garden work

Good Morning Menuers!

I'd love to see your pics of the planets. I feel like looking at pics of the solar system is just as difficult as deciphering an ultarsound. I'm hoping to break out of work by 2pm (we usually leave 3pm Friday's). Son is having a friend over, and I promised to drive her home. I have no real plans for the weekend- just prepping for leaving for vacation on Monday. Weather should be nice enough to swim (finally).

QOTD- just yesterday an attorney we work with wanted my opinion on a case she was considering taking because "I'm always very thoughtful." I was flattered to hear her say that, I do try and be thoughtful and carefully think through pros/cons/consequences etc. Recently I saw a post on LinkedIn about a person who was flattered that someone they worked with years ago called them for advice. I totally get that-- I like to be so relateable/reliable that people would be willing to come to me even after we've parted ways.

Exercise- run 1.25 miles, weights, and sit-ups

2 bolied eggs, eggo waffle

no plan rest of the day. They've been having food in all week for the peer support teams in for the funeral. I wasn't impressed with yesterdays. I think I'll fly solo and get schezwan green beans w/shrimp. Dinner-- I could go for a good salad!

Photos: I updated my profile pic. Pic #1 was a yard project hubby & I did- a walking path, that area was always muddy after a rain. #2 is youger son heading to junior formal #3 was me graduating a few weeks ago.

I'm late to the party today. I had to renew my license and I got the Real ID. Real ID will be required, yet they charge an "opt in" fee. Government! At least I loved how my photo came out.

qotd: most people don't understand my comfort with my hair loss. It's something I literally forget about-- when I see reactions from people I think oh yeah- not a norm for them. I wear wigs when I feel like it-- but a lot less lately. They don't understand my switching up either-- feel like it some big emotional reason. Sometimes I just don't feel like going back to get one once I'm dressed!

I love the activities/studies that you're involved in, and how you branch out to things that are not in your wheelhouse. Back in Octotber I had joned WW for 3 months. I gained 12#'s in that period and dropped it. It wasn't the program, it was me, my thyroid meds and iron deficiency all working against the progress. But I won't go back- the whole reason I had WLS was to not pay to lose weight again. Medical issues are leveled out so now it just me and I'm working on it.

QOTD- if loading a dishwasher was a an Olympic sport I'd take home gold! It boggles my mind how my family can't load it logically. Heck, at least pay attention to how I had it loaded when you unload. Loading the dishwasher is like tetris for me.

Nothing major planned in my day. I won't cook tonight, so I'll go home and chill.

Exercise: Run 1.25 miles, sit-ups and weights

Good Morning PP and menu peeps! Please share those uneventful travel vibes with me!! We go to Mexico next week for vaaction and I'm anxious with all the news of delays/cancellations.

My day started off busy- a line of duty death is a lot of activity, and we have a few more seiously injured in the hospital. And someone else ended up with a limb amputation. Never thought I'd deal with two limb amputations in a non-medical career.

My approach to losing weight has been monitoring calories in/out. I've been having trouble finding my sweet spot for calories for loss and think I'm getting there now. My app it set for 1557 (and it redjusts automatically as I lose weight) and I'm typically under that amount by 200 calories so I'm thinking 1350-1450 is my losing calorie goal. I started at 1800 (nutritionist recommeded) with lots of trial and error-- hoping for consistentcy now. And I don't add back my exercise

QOTD: I'm rarely invited to things- so not much to miss out on.

Exercise: 1.3 mile run and sit-ups

Menu today:

premier protein shake, greek yogurt w/cheerios medley added

nature valley protein crunch bar

Ham & cheese sandwich, no-sugar diced peach cup

I am off today, hubby who works from home has to work. I'm trying to not get out of bed before him but I'm an early bird and he has no set start time. I'll get up, run. I've got nothing to do today, again. By 7pm yesterday I was bored silly. I know I need to eat better today. But having nothing to do is making me want to cook.

what I've planned out in my head:

protein shake

Egg white omelette and ham

I took a Breuer look back- didn't see Sunday menu posts. Ya'll must take this day of rest this literally, haha.

I'm an early bird so I'll ramble for a bit. I'm somber this morning because a firefighter died. (I work for the firefighter's union- he was a member of our local.) three others are hurt. It will be a rough week.

I have NO plans for today. I'm happy that I handed in my capstone paper early- no cramming for me today. And I'm off school till August.

meals today:

egg/egg white, sausage crumble, cinnamon toast

Jelly Donut (father's days 'breakfast' in bed)

BBQ left overs- chicken leg grilled veggies and corn on the cob

I'll try and get in a protein shake to too
