I was out today and was wondering if the Jamba Juice drinks...the lower in sugar ones with a protein boost is a good choice for a quick drink.  Has anyone done this.  The one I chose had 270 calories, 9 grams of protein but 47 g of sugar...I added 7 g of protein in the boost.  I think it was kinda high in sugar but I loved it.  First Jamba Juice for me.  So it was a treat but not sure if it is a good one to repeat often.  Does anyone else do Jamba Juice?

Hey Loselive,  one won't kill you.   VERY high in carbs,  save it for a treat.    What ever we don't bur immediatley we turn to fat.   When we lose weight quickly we loose all our muscle first.  We want to eat high protein and low carbs...don't waste your calories on sugar.   But if you do have it.....ENJOY IT.   Moraine

Actually, the purpose of the protein is to preserv the muscle mass.  Lifting weights will retore and preserve, build muscle mass. Simon

My doctor said not to eat Jamba Juice, I think becuase they have too much sugar and not enough nutrition. Personally, I won't eat them (at least yet) because they are too much like milkshakes.   Michele

Thanks all, I have never had a Jamba Juice until today.  It really was great.  I read the sugar content and knew it was a no=no...But I have to tell you I really did enjoy it.  I will stay away from them.. I will have to see if they have good old carrot juice if I am ever there again...lol... Back to regular protein drinks...really like the cookies and cream one...very good... Thanks again...Bessings, Nance

I wouldn't suggest you drinking that.. It's way too high in sugar and that will stall your weight loss.. Also, I would think that the calories alone are way to high for a drink anyway, for all that you could eat something. Just MY opinion hun..

It's not the worst thing in the world to eat... especially if you view it as a treat.  Remember, you need to adopt a lifestyle you can life forever.  The sugar is probably not all refined sugar, but I'm assuming a good portion comes from the natural fructose in the fruits that are used.   These also contain the phytonutrients from the fruits used... as well as a bit of fiber.  So it's not without merit.  They do have a line called Jamba Light which are sweetened with Splenda... and are all under 200 calories... may be a better choice in the future.   Why not make it a post work-out treat after a particularly tough work-out (no more than once per week)?? The carbs and protein are a great recovery tool. :)
