Just wondering how soon you are able to eat nuts after surgery?

I think this answer varies by doctors.
My Doctor told me its a no no for atleast a year.  Then he would rather me just not if I could help it.

I think it is just a case by case.

As far as I know Dr. Aceves says day #31.

I know someone posted a long time ago that they were not permitted veggies for a few months.  I eat a mostly veggie diet (I was at goal during my revision) and I asked him and he said that as long as I tolerated it well I could eat them as soon as I got on solids.  I never had a problem.

Maybe some doctors suggest no nuts for awhile due to the fat content??

So far as I can recall there was no exclusion or warning off of nuts by my doc. As soon I was off mushies and on to regular old foods I started eating nuts. Seeds and nuts are a lot of what I snack on, in fact...

I had the same surgeon as MC and was eating almonds at 6 weeks (which is when we are supposed to be fully healed and safe to eat anything).  But some surgeons recommend waiting for certain foods, sometimes to increase success and sometimes to decrease the risk of nausea.  My surgeon is very conservative on both counts yet like MC, I don't remember him saying anything about waiting past the 6 week mark.  Regardless, its best to follow whatever your surgeon or Nut. recommends.

Thanks guys for some reason the only cravings I have had since surgery is banana chips and almonds. I rarely ate either before surgery.

Your food cravings and preferences are going to change a great deal now that you have had surgery.  We all hope our cravings and preferences change for the better.  For the most part mine did.

As soon as you are on regular food and can tolerate them.

But they are high in fat and calories and some us have trouble eating just a few... so be careful.

An observation....I've had constipation issues from Day 1.  And taking  Miralax and Benefiber have yielded some results.  I started eating some raw, unsalted cashews and eating Target's brand of high protein cereal.  That combo has helped immensely!  And I do eat Quaker brand high protein oatmeal although I'm a little burned out on oatmeal.  The cereal is usually my go to breakfast.
I have braces or I would be eating almonds which are really good for you.  Good luck on your nutty journey!!!
